My headphones are on its last legs. I've used a shit ton of tape to try and keep it in that sweet spot where it still functions properly, and it's gotten to the point where the sweet spot is so difficult hold onto that I must retire my headphones. I'm going to need to buy a new pair soon.

I wish I could just buy wireless headphones so I can avoid accidentally yanking on the cords breaking 'em, but a decent set are out of my price range.

Someone should just hurry up and invent some non-Newtonian wires so we don't have to worry about accidentally pulling on the cords by forgetting they're in the path between our hands and whatever we're reaching at and just let us reach through them. Who needs physics?!

That'd also stop the tangling problems we've been forced to live through since forever.

My nice Sony headphones died the other day. Luckily for me, I have a small collection of earbuds from people upgrading their phones.

These are cheap ($35), work with any bluetooth device, have playback controls built in, function as a headset device, and have really good sound quality.
My only complaint is that they like to stutter and desync when they're low on battery, which is annoying when I'm trying to watch videos with them on. I also sometimes have to hit play/pause to bring it out of phone mode which guts the sound quality like all phones do. They also don't come with a bluetooth adapter, which will set you back another 7-10 bucks if you need one.

Speaking of phones having shit audio quality: Why haven't we invented phones that don't sound like complete booty yet? My smartphone can record 1080p video, pretty good audio, and has excellent speakers for a phone. But when I actually call someone I am thrust violently into the 1990s.

I checked the compatibility and it says it works only on mobile devices, I'm not sure if I'm just horrible understanding simple labels though. I was hoping for something for my laptop.

They work via bluetooth, if your laptop has a bluetooth setting you can use them. You can also get a USB bluetooth adapter for pretty cheap, it's what I did to get them to work on my main computer.
