I thought it looked fake so I did some digging and it may actually be real. I was doubtful at first because eels normally have their eyes on the sides of their head. But I actually found another picture

As you can see, the eyes look more in place here, I think it was the lightning and angle that made the other picture look weird.

9gag watermarks everything as his own. Therefore it is automatically shit. And if you don't want to see NSFW, go on reddit. Ame's description is pretty accurate, 9gag is a horrible mess of rage comics and forced memes.
