Finally got new earrings, and I'm rather pop flyin' with them.

Now I will finally get a date for the prom

Got back my motivation after months of depressing apathy.

Highlights:
A good week at work, with actually nourishing human interactions
I implemented drag-and-drop and sliders in my game
Thunderstorms
My mother and sister visited twice and stayed for supper once (I believe that was the first time either of them ate something I cooked and it was neat)
My mother fixed my computer chair for me so now I have an actual computer chair and gave me a clothesline as a delayed birthday gift
Strawberries
The clothes I ended up buying two weeks ago turned out nicer than I thought
My upstairs neighbor has two cats that like to peek when I'm on my balcony
Two upcoming mondays off in a row because Canada
My hair is now long enough to flop around

So, my career path has changed a lot in the past week (though I've been thinking about it for longer)

My school offered me a job as an administrative assistant/testing coordinator/student services person/whatever title they come up with! Which is really nice, because I was looking for a teaching job, not really finding a good one, and then not being super jazzed about it anyways because I wasn't planning on teaching long-term, just long enough to get the mandatory experience for becoming a school counselor later on.

Well, thanks to advice from a lot of people and some of my own research, I decided to shift directions slightly into becoming a "regular" counselor (LPC). Which is overall better for me because A) I don't have to deal with public school admin politics B) I don't need to get teaching experience and C) it offers me a lot more flexibility in what kind of job I take later on. I may even end up staying at my current school and being promoted into more of a counselor position. Or I could go into mental health counseling, or academic advising at a university, or something else. Just more options are open to me.

Plus, this new job will be WAY less stressful, I won't have to take work home with me, and I can get started with grad school sooner. Plus, I really like my coworkers. Everyone is super supportive of me here, you don't always find that at any old job.

I consider myself extremely lucky to have a friend that can point out my prejudice and ignorance in a friendly, helpful method.

I want to improve myself as a person, and having someone that can help you with that that without making you feel too shit about not knowing something is wonderful.

I've been told by a school district that they want to offer me the job as soon as my paperwork goes through c:

Well, it took me a year to finally be able to go out and do it, but after spending a combined 8 hours in the Social Security office and the Department of Licensing just waiting around on uncomfortable chairs, I have FINALLY been able to change my last name to reflect my marriage to Sloth.

Had to wait a year because our home county delayed the receipt of my marriage certificate to the degree that I couldn't make the changes at that point without fucking up a bunch of time sensitive school paperwork and certification registrations for the rest of the school year.

Went picking strawberries with my mother in a field 10 minutes from my childhood house which I didn't know existed. Got 4 litres. The weather was perfect and super windy.

Went to a (free!) concert by my favorite band last night. It was packed and full of people who seemingly knew the band and came specially for them, which is awesome because I didn't expect that many people of all ages to appreciate Ukrainian contemporary avant-garde world fusion folk music. Lots of people knew the songs and the audience reaction was incredible. The bandmembers were gleeful and said it was the best night of their North-American tour. It was amazing.
They stayed after the show to sell autographed albums in person (which I'd never seen them do before) and I would have gone but we had to leave :(
