they're super fucking sturdy, I'm gonna be breaking these in for ages

I'm also not really "into" shoes, but I care more about my shoes than the average person, i guess

they're also the most expensive shoes i own, and they were on sale

I think my snowboots were that much. But I kind of needed to get a type that functions as a very tall hiking/work boot, and will keep my feet warm for dayyyyyyys because of reynaud's.

But shoes are one of those things where good ones cost good cheddar, so good job scouting out that sale and going for it. takes me for-fucking-ever to buy anything that isn't food.

Got some adorable little strawberry plants for a couple dollars, and decided to try setting them up in some planters that I was able to get inexpensively. Also found a little salsa kit for Sloth that will probably produce enough tomatoes and chilies for next year, plus some little herbs and pretty pots. And I have time to regularly tend them now, including keeping an eye on the outdoor ones to make sure neighbor dogs/kids don't get into the planters when I move them off the patio to get direct sunlight (Our corner of the apartment building is always in at least partial shade, except for an hour or so before sunset during the summer.)

Rehearsals also went well today, so there's that! The composer even said that I was doing a great job of accurately tracking the metric clusterfuck that was his time signature assignments.

Got called in to cover for someone's shift today. He usually works in a position that I like and don't get to do very often, so hey why not. I asked one of the managers to help clock me in since the machine won't let you do that yourself if you change shifts.

"Wait you're covering for [coworker]? That's weird, he was just here for his check."

Found out later that he quit and is working somewhere else now.

Later my boss comes up to me: "Hey do you want some more hours?"

I don't know for sure but it sounds like I'm going to be more or less taking over former coworker's position, one that I enjoy doing, for more hours. And multiple managers have told me that I'm good at it.

My legs and back are cramping, I am completely coated in sweat, my throat is dry and cracked, my ears are nearly nonfunctional, and my neck is too sore to support my head.

I love metal.

Just in a good mood this evening.

We all traded places at work on Monday so that the team wouldn't be so scattered anymore and it improved the dynamic a lot.
I just added an important feature to my game (being able to collect items by touching them, and having the total amount saved on disk and restored later). It's simple but there was one aspect that made it trickier than I expected, but it turns out I had already implemented the solution somewhere else and just needed to reuse it.
My hair looks nice today.

That's very good to hear! Hope everything goes over well!
(Also, with your hair, it seems to imply that it's falling out, and you just noticing how nice each little hair looks. Still good though!)

There was a cute spider in the bathtub so I was resigning myself to not leave the house today but I managed to make it crawl into a bowl and got it out of my apartment without hurting it.

oh man

I'm off today so I decided today was a MAKE TATE FEEL GOOD ABOUT HIMSELF day

I slept for 13 hours. I got up at 12:15 PM. And then I showered and did my grooming routines and moisturized and then went to the nail salon down the street and had a mani-pedi - first time I ever had either done. I was super nervous but the tiny Asian woman running the place got the message quickly and was like "OOOHHHH! :D First time!"

it was super relaxing and my nails are shiny and I feel fantastic. And on the way home I stopped at Starbucks because their fraps are 1/2 off between 3 and 6 PM so I got a gigantic smores frap and fuuuuuck its so goooood

And in half an hour I'm leaving to go hang out with my bff! We're gonna make and eat cupcakes and play boardgames and video games and oh my goodness

I've lost 8 pounds since I started counting calories and monitoring my diet more closely.

Currently at 164 pounds

Well, today started off shitty for a variety of reasons, but I finished another jewelry set (although I might add some stones to the earrings, not sure yet), I have pizza, plenty of dark rum, and I get to discuss story ideas with the best husband.
