AWKWARD ZOMBIE

As a job perk I got to spend yesterday afternoon on a pontoon boat in a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains near the US border (we actually crossed the border to get around an island but sshhh don't tell Trump about it). It was the first time in a long while that I got any sun (despite all my efforts to hide all my skin from it) and somehow my hair turned a lighter shade of blond. It was great because it was one of the hottest days we'll get this summer but the water and wind made it perfectly pleasant.

It's a type of story, generally fantasy or science fiction. Basically people got tired of humans always being the "average" creature and started finding reasons we would actually be pretty BA in the galactic scheme of things. Maybe Earth is was more high gravity than everywhere else, so we're really dense and strong. Maybe no other race developed body language. I like reading stories where it's something that's ridiculously normal for us, but actually could give us a huge advantage if we're unique.

Got a SICK deal on a graphics card and motherboard, and okay deals on other PC parts thanks to bundle deals. I might actually come in under budget.

Now bodaciously all I need is a case and peripherals to finish my build. I'm so excited

I saw my favorite band at a local world music festival for $5 on Wednesday with a friend who didn't know the band beforehand and he actually liked it (!) and would like to know more about the bands I listen to (!!). It was great. Then I met my ex roommate (my friend's current roommate) for the first time since I moved to my own apartment and he was genuinely pop flyin' to see me and asked how I was doing at work and wow is this what having friends is like this is amazing.

On the same day I had a meeting with my supervisor to review my first three months at work and they're fully satisfied and he said he'd like to have me in his dev team but that he'd have to fight with the leader of my current team. I am not used to feeling this appreciated.

Also last Saturday I met with a friend I hadn't seen in two years and it was super nice. And the day afterward I saw my sister and for the first time in several years we were able to have a real conversation without her children being too disruptive and we bonded over experiencing the same kind of work-related bullshit and it helped her go through the rough first few weeks at her new job.

Also also my father gave me blueberries that grow around the house and my mother gave me carrots from her garden and nothing smells like freshly unearthed carrots.

I never thought things would turn out so well and that I'd ever be this pop flyin'.

I got ten hours of sleep and now the existential dread I was experiencing all day yesterday is gone.

I couldn't get a job since finishing my Bachelor's but now I'm accepted into the Master's so at least 2 more years of university, whoo!

I'm finally moving out of my mother's house.

I feel like being 26 years old means it's too late to feel any sense of pride or achievement so whatever. I took all next week off work, hopefully that will mitigate some of the stress.

I just pulled a Magic card worth 100 ameribucks???

I felt irresponsible for going to the slightly more expensive grocery store and racking up a whopping $25 bill because I bought cheese and meat but then I found a $10 bill in the parking lot.
