Its adorable how super racist so many Americans are, yet try to hide it behind politics

That's because America was founded primarily by Britons. And Britons are/were very classist. American racism is just classism at its core, but a lot of the lower class are minorities. If you look at modern Britain you see the same thing, just with young white men in tracksuits instead of young black or mexican men. It's not true racism, it's an evolution of classism. Which, by the way, can be found in most European nations as well.

This was gonna be a really good weekend before my parents told me they'd be visiting tomorrow. It's still a pretty dang good weekend but. they added that dash of stress to it.

Why do people get so offended by constructive criticism? Gentle constructive criticism at that. I mean, it wasn't all like the criticizer was being mean about it at all, he/she still gave the person props for his/her hard work. All he/she said was that it could have been better. Then there was a small barrage of "Then you should try making it yourself" or "You can't criticize this person because of this".

Like dang.

I never really understood why some people take constructive criticisms poorly, either

I welcome them, myself, but my initial reaction upon hearing them is always to attempt to go on the defensive, even if I fully acknowledge that there's areas in something I've done that needs a lot of improvement, including when I actually ask "What can I do to improve this?". Though I uuuuusually suppress those first thoughts when someone tells me how to improve and can accept the suggested fixes.

Psychology is weird.

Big fragile egos. Many of my art friends as well as myself have had to deal with lots of those since we've run a bunch of OCTs. The kind of people who only want praise, don't deserve it. We all learnt not to comment unless someone asked. We also gave people the option of not getting a critique on their entries. As well as the option of detailed critique.
But generally the default was you get a few light criticisms with the verdict.

I find that the fans of the artist tends to be worse about criticism than the artist themselves, with exceptions of course. I think its because some sort of psychological issue where you view a critique of your entertainment as a critique of your personality

I would understand some outrage if the criticism was worded harshly or sounded like an attack, but when the criticism is like super nice. I really don't get it.

I can't talk to my dad at all. He always denies and points out how it's my shortcomings that are the problem.

You'd think I'd realize this and stop trying.

There's not all that much to it. Some people just can't take criticism at all. I wouldn't waste time with the clearly irrational responses.

i got really excited over a dnd character idea to have the dm tell me a week before backstories are due that i can't do it

My brother is acting like it's the end of times with this cold he has.

Snowing. Have to shovel neighbor's walk. Keeps snowing. So you can barely tell I did anything, and my toes sting like hell from the cold.

Haha, we're at 6 inches now. I went out and shoveled in front of my townhouse, and then a path past two of the neighbors, around the side of the building, around the construction supplies, and into the grass. And then I cleared a small area in the grass. My dog loves the snow. He has a lot of hair. He holds a lot of snow. I do not like the idea of having to bust out the hair dryer every time he has to pee.

Supposed to stop snowing at 6 AM (about 16 hours from now). I look forward to shoveling two or three more times.

Did that last month, made some good cheddar too.
