"You did?" The wolf looked pleasantly surprised. "Do you want to try it on the book now? It's locked away in my house for safekeeping; I can show you there."

"Just give me a minute or two to pick up the kit, and I'll meet you there, no doy." Diana takes off for her house.

Not too long later, she knocks on Whitney's door, carrying a rolled-up mat in her one hand, and the umbrella in another. "Can you open up?"

Whitney opened the door a crack and peeked out, then quickly unlatched it and held it open for Diana. "You brought it, then? Here's the book." She showed Diana over to her bed, where the book was resting. "Do you know anything about picking a lock, though...? I've never done it before."

"A little," Diana answers. "I mean, I know someone who opens them for a living, you know, for people who lock themselves out of their houses, no doy. And I've done it in a game or two, how hard could it be, no doy?"
She rolls out the kit, picking out two of the tools at first. It takes her a while with trial and error, and a combination of tools, until she begins to hear some clicking. "Ah...I think I'm getting it." Finally, a decisive click, and the lock's latches open, freeing the book. "And there!"

"Hershel T? Who's that?" Whitney frowned and picked at the remaining two locks, disappointed that they hadn't been able to open the book. "I wonder if the other villagers might know."

After seeing the two pairs leave the tent, Cranston poked in, finding Punchy. He made his way to the breakfast table, picking up a leftover pear.
"I generally like to have others eat before I help myself, sweatband," he said in between nibbles, "It's a habit I picked up working sermons my village's Nest of The Phoenix. Where's everyone off to?"

Sorry that this is so late, stuff happened last night, and then I had an appointment this morning.

"Wiccans can't even brew a proper love potion." Coco huffs.
"Just ended up sending them home ill."

"And you? You were an ...heir, am I right, doroing?"

"I haven't the foggiest," Diana answered with a shrug. "Maybe it's the owner of this?"
"Perhaps I can try opening the last two locks," She mused, glancing over at the wall clock. It had been quite time-consuming to open just the first one, though she did know what better to use, so the last two locks might be easier to open. "I've gotten the hang of it a little better I think, no doy."
