Everyone was out all day and left me alone. It's nice having seven hours of peace and quiet to just thinking about things and such.

The Anime Con I usually go to is coming up shortly, and I feel pretty good about my cosplays, even though they aren't completely accurate.

Ehmahgersh, my brother just got home and he bought me a sketchbook so I can finally start drawing again.

I can let my creativity floooow again!!

... I just need to figure out what I want to draw.

I got paid!

An old family friend contacted me about drawing something for him after I made a post about offering $15-20 commissions, and when it was done he insisted on giving me a hundred. I guess 15-20 was a bit small for the number of hours I put in, but geez that's a lot of cheddar for one drawing.

Now I just need to finish up for the next person who contacted me directly, and then I can open up public commissions!

$15-20 is about what you should be charging for a sketch commission. If he paid $100 you must've done an inked, coloured with background commission.

found out that my guess about first responder protocols for trauma in my story wasn't too far off from the real thing, so I won't have to change too much

Not trying to sound braggy, but yesterday at work I took a guy's order at the drive-thru, he gave me a gift card, and still owed me a little under $5 afterwards. I told him and he was like "Shit, I don't have any more cheddar on me", so I just paid for the rest of it myself. Feels good man.

Three years of humidity, heat and mosquitoes. The only thing that can keep me here is if the world decides to open up and devour me before I have the chance to get out.

From the stories I heard right after getting here, that's not entirely too uncommon in Florida.

Only 3 years? Where are you originally from? I've been here all my life and I do want to travel once I'm able to.

Came from Nashville, Tennessee. We had to move to Florida due to some hardships and the side of the family that lives down here promised to help us out with a lot of things.

Then they left us to fend for ourselves the next month when they realized their half-thought plans weren't working as they told us because all of it was based on information that was only true twenty years ago and they don't pay attention to the world other than all that stuff they hear on FOX News, and one of their acquaintances has completely ruined our lives.

So we're going to go back to Tennessee to rebuild. No one in Florida wants to even think of hiring people without prior job experience and college. Operating a cash register can't possibly be that difficult... But what do I know? I never touched one.

The Nashville area is supposed to be getting the Google Fiber service sometime soon, and I assume it'll spread outward from there, so going back to the general area leaves me optimistic for the nice things we'll be able to look forward towards.

Oh man. That's rough. If you can't trust family, who can you trust? Good luck to you guys though. I'm getting my college done now and hoping I can nab a job with that. Florida sucks when it comes to decent jobs.
