I finally got a new smartphone after having the same one since 2011 (which was a low-end one for the time too, since it was free) and I'm starting to realize what I've been missing out on.

I can actually do things and read things like this booty place without getting a motion sickness-like feeling This is incredible

I had a pretty long emotional talk with a friend of mine last night and it improved my mood greatly. It has even rekindled my faith in God. I think I'll start going back to church next week. First day in a few months that I've actually felt really good.

Congrats man!

A friend of mine said she would actually put in a good word for me to her boss, so I may be getting a job soon too. Depends if it would conflict with my play rehearsal schedule.

Last week I finally sent an email to my mother to ask if she still hated me as much and she replied she wanted to see me.
We talked for two hours today and it was only contextually awkward. It turns out those last four years were all just a misunderstanding.

But seriously I'm pop flyin' with this new development and I'm impressed by the almost real-person-like way I dealt with my emotions and stuff.

I am boss at alto and bass flute. Dem low notes, man.

Also, I did well on my conducting midterm, and the professor told me that he doesn't normally approve of female voices singing male music lines, but that I make a rad lady tenor. wheeeeee.

I've always liked lower-pitched female voices in music. I feel like they aren't used enough. Maybe they're just so rare, or everyone's so used to high-pitched female voices that everyone always sings that way.

I'm glad you're one of them then. The world needs more rad lady tenors.

I'm seeing a career counselor tomorrow to talk about other fields I might be interested in, since I'm not really sure about Music Education anymore. I'm feeling hopeful that they'll be able to give me some insight.

You should listen to Romi Paku. Japanese singer/voice actor and her voice game is stronk.

I was having problems with my laptop (the fan was always at 100% because the GPU was also always at 100% because I was using the free driver). After a while I gave up and installed the proprietary driver, which solved the fan problem but caused all sorts of freezes and crashes and visual glitches and reduced the framerate and stuff. A new version of my Linux distro got released yesterday and I was going to wait because I was warned that the proprietary driver was not available yet, but then my afternoon was freed up because Professor McMoron cancelled his class (which in itself made me pop flyin') so I figured I'd install the new version now and worry about the driver later. And it turns out the new kernel+free driver can deal with my GPU a thousand times better than the proprietary driver before.
