Ew, I can't believe I repeated myself like that. It's almost as bad a pet peeve of mine when I reply to friends and start two messages in the same conversation with "Ah" or "Really?" It's even worse if it's consecutive.

Welp, joining the "what the hell is "a basic ability to figure things out"?" club is my cousin apparently.
We were playing Wii Party U and doing the game Name That Face. As long as you know what the Wii U gamepad is and that it has a camera then you might even be able to just guess the mechanics of the game from the very title, so I decided to skip the in-game instructions. You're given an expression to make. Others have to guess what expression you were given. There's really nothing more to say, so I decided to. And we explained this to him anyway. And he got to see a demonstration first. And he still fucked it up anyway. By somehow not noticing the given subject on the gamepad that you have to look at in order to even be able to see your own face. I was a little worried when he took his photo oddly fast but just assumed he was given an easy subject. Then I got more worried when he said "So then I pick it from here?" but just assumed that what he meant were the incorrect options the players have to choose from. Then I was really worried when he said something like "It might be 'in a haunted house' because my mouth is open" and first I assumed that he was just messing with us, but at some point the benefit of the doubt has to fucking drop. At some point I had to tell myself "He didn't notice the subject. He thinks the Wii U itself will recognize his expression. He apparently thinks this thing is goddamn sci-fi/fantasy technology."

All of that was at least funny, but what I'm actually annoyed about, really annoyed about, was the utter anger from him to me as though I somehow made him misunderstand. He just got so mad at me that I skipped the instructions, the instructions that we explained to him, could very easily just be guessed, he got to see a demonstration of, and were pretty much on the screen he was holding. And when I told all of that to him he just sarcastically replied "Keep going."
I'm sorry that I think you're capable of very simple thinking??

My grandmother is highly political (in an "everything Fox News says is indisputable truth" kind of way) and uses every opportunity to start talking about how Obama is doing stuff wrong and that he's the reason the McDonald's worker forgot the fries.

Completely sincere about it, too.

Yeah, my mom is very similar. Maybe not to the point where she blames Obama for EVERYTHING, but she definitely doesn't like him at all and she gets rustled at people who claim that FOX News is biased.

My dad is big on Fox News, despite everyone telling him that they are shit. Mom does Yahoo/MSN for news.

Mom's not too intense on the "everything is Obama's faaaaulllttt" line, but in 2008 she was convinced he would have himself set up as Neo Hitler by 2012 (spoiler: it didn't happen). When pointed out that that did not happen, she says "and he was voted in again!"

Fortunately, the current/recent "war powers" thing hasn't come up around her yet. I can imagine the nightmare that conversation would be.

People always seem to pin everything on the president as if he's an absolute ruler. Hah. I remember early during his first term when people believed he was the antichrist.
