Considering the latest posts by proletariats were mostly about wanting to do things discreet, and send PMs to people involved, the way my post in the pop flyin' thread and Runes post now were merged, feels unnecessarily obnoxious and kind of rude actually, especially on such a minor offense. Writing in the largest font available and with a different color just feels to me like a mod is yelling "EVERYONE LOOK AT THIS DUMBASS NOT ABIDING THE RULES" and "YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG, DON'T DO IT AGAIN, GOT THAT DUMBASS".

Unless the forum automatically generates it (which I doubt), I can't imagine it's really that hard to just merge posts, and then send the person a PM with a reference which thread it's concerning, a quote of that specific ruleset and then say "I merged two of your posts" :/

It's exactly because it's "such a minor offense" that we edit posts like that: people tend to forget double-posting is against the rules, thus editing posts with a word from the proletariats reminds people of this. It's also because everybody can do it that we leave a word attached to the post. It doesn't make you a dumbass to double-post, but you shouldn't do it, and nobody should do it. Yes, the goal is also to get you to not do it again.
I'm sorry you dislike the way I (we) handle it. You can think that it's rude, but isn't it rude to disregard the proletariats? How about following the rules too? It's not hard to edit or delete your own post to avoid double-posting. No exceptions, sorry.
We'll stop using large fonts though.

No I'm not asking for exceptions, I just think using large fonts with different colors is a pretty bad idea. I know you want people to notice, but what if I didn't see my post at all? Like, I haven't been on the forum for a day or two, or a lot has been posted between a couple hours, and I'm not exactly checking my own posts again, I just hit the little icon to get me to the newest post, so I'm skipping mine. Or maybe I don't check the thread at all. Which means telling me in this way that I shouldn't do it failed it's purpose.
I'm pretty sure everyone checks their PMs, and if I'd get a message telling me I violated the rules, I definitely took notice of it. And it's better evidence in general when someone keeps repeating the same mistake, you can save the PM and say "I warned you on the days X, Y, and Z". It's not exactly a stable method hoping that someone sees their own edited post.

Sure you can say it's rude to violate the rules, but it doesn't mean that it has to be pointed out in this way for everyone, like you're paying back the rudeness. But maybe it's just me who feels, uh... how can I say it, exposed? I might just put a small sentence in here and say that my English isn't perfect and I'm sorry if my wording sounds weird or exaggarated for these last two sentences, I don't know how to describe it better, sorry.
Again, I'm not saying it should be excused, I'm only saying that large fonts and colors aren't the best way to go (for other reasons I also just listed).

That's true. I'll send PMs too, thanks!

That's unfortunately not the case. Many people don't check their PMs, mostly because they have the pop-up notifications turned off and don't notice the "1 new message" at the top of the page. I have to semi-regularly remove oversized avatars because of people not checking their PMs after I send them one about it. It's also why I sometimes directly post in the Avatar thread when I see an avatar or signature that's too big.

I get what you mean but the intent with the edit is to get other members to remember that double-posting is against the rules, not to say "this guy here is a dumbass for double-posting". Nobody in the proletariats team thinks people are idiots for double-posting. We know people forget some rules sometimes and we're not going to kill them for it. Everybody can be forgetful. I do think that saying it's rude is exaggerated. It's just three blue words in your post, and you'd have to be insecure to think people are going to think badly of you for it.

Huh, okay. I really didn't knew that was possible :s

W-well okay then. It just sticks out like a sore thumb, but removing the large font atleast and leaving the different color as a reminder is a fair enough trade.
(And you know I'm insecure)

You still don't need to make exceptions, I said it in the beginning already aha

But I know we do have multiple insecure members, maybe I can come up with a solution which is good for both sides. For now this definitely works though, and I guess we have to hope people really don't get the wrong idea that no one is out to get them (for the lack of a better description again, sorry).

Oh man loli don't feel bad, it's fine. Everyone is entitled to make a couple little mistakes. Katie is still in the Admin group, and you've had a hell of a time with trying to get riku modship.

It wasn't even a big mistake.

Hell the time you deleted the first Text Screencaps thread was way worse than this minor goof.

Oh god, I was so confused, I saw Tatzel's avatar and scrolled down the page thinking "Where did all of Great Handsome Oppressor's posts go?!?!?!" before noticing Great Handsome Oppressor's avatar.

Sorry, carry on, just had to freak out for a second.

Alright, finally tried to move a post from one topic to another (something Syobon suggested a while ago about off-topic discussions) and it's very doable if a bit convoluted.
As there is no "Move post(s) to another topic" option, we have to split the off-topic posts into a new topic before merging that topic with an existing one.
So, don't be surprised if you see topics with three posts and names like "Re: Art thread" appearing and disappearing at times. Just the proletariats moving posts where they belong.

EDIT: Nevermind, the "Merge posts" options lets us select posts and move them to another, pre-existing topic. Disregard what I said right above!

What about moving the Aikonia thread to Media Swamp?

Why is this stickied? That's the opposite of deletion.
