I want these plants with air bladders to be able to float away when disconnected from the ground.
And like, if people hang onto a large one and chop off the stem they could do balloon travel with these plants.

What about other plants too like trees & mushrooms?

I can see them having shallow roots and moving around from place to place in strong winds and storms, but not being used for travel.
I doubt that they could have enough pull to carry a fully grown animal.

Edit: Maybe there could be trees that encourage forest fires, like the eucalyptus trees do, and mushrooms that destroy what remains after a fire.

Hmm, I think that, depending on the size, if someone had about 5-10 of them in it's hand/claw/feeler/tentacle at the same time, and was light enough, it could fly.
It would be a bit impractical, though.
But, then again, seaweed can grow up to half a metre a day...

Maybe the plants stay rooted to the ground for most of their lifecycle, then detach when they need to reproduce so they can scatter pollen/seeds everywhere they go?

Just imagine, instead of dandelion puffs floating everywhere in the wind, little plant-balloons.

Perhaps small, light animals could hitch a ride, or the people living there could find a way to harvest them and use them for travel when a bunch take off at once.

I imagine the air bladder plants as being really tall, however I like the little plant-balloon idea. Maybe the leaves at the lower part of the plant could detach, and the stipe and roots would be left completely intact?

Now I'm imagining some type of tree with a wide canopy and flytrap vines that would come down and snag the floating plants to eat.
Plant cannibalism?

Since this seems like a very swampy place I'll throw in my 2 gold doubloons for a plant idea I had a while back...

This kind of mushroom that grows along lakes, ponds, and streams and actually has the bottom side on the top, and starts out all curled upwards, it collects water over time in the cup shaped cap. At the height of maturity it puffs the spores into the water it collected and wilts towards the nearest source of water, causing the spores to be swept away and grow along other areas of water.

Because this thing collects water some species of amphibians and insects let their young mature in these mushroom cups, letting them spread with the spores into other watery areas.
