May I use this rage variant?

If you're unfamiliar with the source, it's part of the D&D SRD. So it's open content.

Wait, before I look that up, that's the one where you get an extra attack at the cost of the con bonus right? Sure, take it.

Again, Honor System. I don't expect you to look except once you've rolled.

But then we know the HP and everything too

Wouldn't it work better if we just said what we rolled and you tell us hit or no?

It's kinda like playing battleships when you know where the other person is.

Unless all of that in addition to the bonus are kept spoilered. I can resist peeking.

Cade Goodbarrel, Barbarian mastermind extraordinaire.

I'm going to wait on LordSeth to see if we're going to coordinate our stories before I do all of my fluff. But the crunch should be all done.

I didn't do the Hitpoints, because you never told us how to do those, and I know that online a lot of DM's like to do different things.

Um but yeah,

here's my guy.

What would be a good class for a newcomer?

I was thinking of being a Ranger, Paladin, or Fighter, but I'm not sure if any of them would get me in over my head.

Spell-based classes aren't good for beginners. If a class has some spell casting like paladin/ranger, then it's not that bad. Bard may be pushing it a bit. But that's just my opinion.

And Scoot, just .5 lbs away from max weight capacity for small w/12 Str. I almost misread the decimal and laughed at the thought of a character starting out overencumbered. But you're good. (Small characters have 3/4 weight capacity of medium creatures, I rounded up to 33)

Okay, so I think I got it (hopefully you guys can see it), but I wouldn't mind someone giving it the once over to make sure I didn't screw anything up majorly.

Also, I seem to have a lot of cheddar left over after buying a lot of stuff. Did I math wrong, or is that normal?

God I am so tired. I've been at this for 2 hours and it's 4:30 am right now.

I think I'm just going to watch this since I had not really any idea what you were talking about half the time.

On second thought, I think I'll pass participating and rather watch this. A little bit confusing so I want to watch how this works during a play as well, rather than just reading manuals.

So I guess my slot is open.

Saving a spot here 'cause I need to leave the house in like three minutes ago.

I think I'll be the paper-thin rouge in charge of everything that involves traps and doors who takes one look at a fight with more than one -insert proper enemy here- and says 'fuck that noise'

Five minutes ago, I should get going.

I think I might join you guys, since I've been wanting to learn to play D&D for a while now. Class wise, I 'd like to be --

DAMMIT.
I was either going for mage or ranger, so ranger it is, I guess.

I've played a small bit of DnD but I've never been a part of a bigger-than-four-people campaign. I've played DDO and Baldur's Gate as well, does that count?

At any rate, I'm probably going to roll a grey elf druid.
All kidding aside, sign me up for Human Wizard. Gotta have some spellflingin'. I'll make a character sheet later. My iPod isn't good for it.

Paladins and druids can both heal, right? If they can, we have ourselves a fairly balanced team.
