I have a uh..."Friend" who's British but cusses like an American, we play Left 4 Dead once in a while. I think i'm enabling him to cuss though.

I haven't met him, but I heard he likes too use English swears that won't get him in trouble because no one understands them 'cross the sea.

I am British, German, and French.

My great grandma on my dad's side was Full French and lived here from like age 50 onward up to about 90 or so. She didn't speak English very often. Both sets of great great (plus or minus a great) grandparents on my mom's side were British. My Grandpa's(on my dad's side) family was German.
I don't really know too much about any of them though.

Both my first and last name are English, but the bulk of my heritage is Danish, German, Prussian, Polish, etc. I don't know how that works.

Always wondered why most of the folk from the US I've chatted with seem to think England and Britain are the exact same. You've got the Scots, Welsh and N.Irish too. Welsh folk get the best stereotype though - Sheep shaggers.

On an unrelated note, English folk have pretty awesome accents most of the time. The ones from Birmingham are pretty fun. Then again I like most accents that aren't neddy. Or chavvy, depending where you're from.

On a related note I can't tell the difference between British accents. I can kinda pick out a Scottish accent from the others but with anything else I have to take a guess.
Whenever I hear someone say "He sounds like a Northerner" I have no idea what to think of.
