The rest of the world should hear about it. It will affect a LOT more than just the US soon if it isn't already, even if they fixed the leak tomorrow. It's THAT bad.

I've been raging about this too.

They're pulling the oil out of the water, more than likely to sell it. They could plug it, I'm sure, but they 'd never be able to use it again, and who cares if they destroy the economy and ecology of an entire chunk of America? They don't live there, no skin off their backs.

What many dont seem to realize is that the oil spill is going to be felt worldwide. According to my science teacher, it will use different water currents, such as the Gulf Stream, to travel quickly and across all of the coasts of nearly all of the continents (southern South America and Antarctica are safe). Within two years, it will arrive at its final destination, Hawaii. By then it will have traveled and spread across North America, Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, and Ausfailia.

Well, you do realize that oil travels in the ocean currents. So it will become a world problem if we don't do something about it.

Dammit! Where the hell are the skimmers?!

We are hearing about it, just not as much at all. I think they talked about swine flu and Haiti more than that.

IMO there seemed to be a bit of "snob" in that post
Tabarnaco is French
I was trying to restrain myself from making a remark about snobby French people

I'm more Canadian than French.
And I don't mean to imply that it's not important, I'm just saying that every country values national news as much as international ones or more. And the spill still hasn't had much of an impact on other countries. I've also been hearing a lot about the red shirts lately.

British Petroleum.

While it started out as British Petroleum, a lot of the shares were bought up by people in the U.S. and other countries, and the name had since changed to Beyond Petroleum.
