North Korea launching a nuke (at anyone) would be like someone shooting a guy with a handgun while all his friends are standing around armed with assault rifles.

The troubling thing is, their leader is just psycho enough that he'd make that suicide move just for the sake of going out with a bang.

First of all, it's a quote from Robot Chicken.

Second of all, when people say "WMD" they mean "nuke." You can get as technical as you want, but in the real world, which is not necessarily a world of semantics, "WMD" means "nuclear missile."

... I just realized, people in Hawaii must be completely flipping out right now. I wonder if there will suddenly be a large amount of people moving away from there. There will almost definitely be a drop in tourism. There probably won't be much of each, though, considered this behavior is to be expected of North Korea at this point.

I think that the US Government is more than perfectly capable of shooting down any nuclear missile before it hits Hawaii or any other US territory.

Also, considering North Korea's track record, what on earth gives you the impression that the missile would even make it as far as Hawaii?

Can't they just send the nuke east instead of west? I'm sure it should reach Hawaii that way.

I don't know, sending a missile several thousand more miles than is necessary over various continents and the entire United States, with absolutely no chance of it being shot down during its sojourn over North America, to Hawaii, the most obvious place to strike when you can, according you, hit anywhere else within the US, just seems like a sound plan to me.
