It happened to Gold, Silver, and maybe Crystal because of the games' internal clock. From what I heard, it seems to happen to Silver cartridges more often than it does to Gold. I haven't heard of it happening to any Crystal cartridges, but it probably does.

Well yes, only the second-gen games have the battery problem, thanks to an always-running internal clock.

Silver and Gold both have an equal chance, obviously. And its only a matter of time before Crystal carts run out of juice too.

I've got to finish a demo cd for Not Not Fun. Also buying a record player and going to start wasting my cheddar on some NNF vinyl. Also going to finish reading Infinite Jest, White Noise, and Confederacy of Dunces. Working at an arts and crafts recycling place with some cool anti-consumerist hippie types on Fridays and Saturdays. Maybe I'll play some video games too.
