that's depressing, i miss how lively this place used to be ;-;

Personally I'd say the dying process started around November 2013 if I remember correctly, when the forum was made actually unusable for an entire month by an unstoppable wave of spambots. I feel many people who were active before never came back afterwards, which started a vicious cycle of more people leaving because the forum is too quiet, making the forum even more quiet and causing more people to leave.

Although I never managed to really connect with anyone and my presence here has been irrelevant at best and an annoyance at worst (sorry about that), I enjoyed my time here and I will miss the time when the forum was alive.

i'm wondering if there's any way of getting people to come back now that the bots are gone >:I

i dunno, maybe people will start coming back coz they'll be all like "huh i wonder how that forum's going" like wot i did

AZ's been sorta....a shell for like 2-3 years at least now. Most of us regulars were way more active in skype and then jumped ship to discord when skype shit the diaper. Occasionally people will filter in for some activity though, but the bizzaro world known as Le Comic is definetly more active.

Also, we havent had bots really in like, a month. It was crazy for awhile and now they've just died out; its happened before.

Honestly, I left because of people being assholes, social justice warriors running rampant and being allowed to get away with pretty much anything they wanted to - and this place generally being an unpleasant place to be, I wasn't even here for the fabled bot attack era.

Whether or not we've all matured enough to move on and let bygones be bygones, I don't know. I might have been a bit immature myself back in the day - I'll concede that, but some of you were raging assholes, yeah, moderation staff included.

I hated it here. I've only came back recently to see if Katie has done any Smash Bros. comics.


EDIT: I'll just clarify that the majority of my problems were with the moderation staff and their cronies/bootlicks, not with the majority of the userbase.

I never had an issue with Shad though. He's a good egg.

No lie, I self-identify as the bogeyman that the political right refers to as "SJWs". Just another way I'm an irreproachable lazy liberal working to undermine the government and collapse the great American society.

I do request examples of some SJW fuckery from the history of AZ, though. I don't really recall much of it.

i will gladly allow SJW bullshit to go on in any place where i have a modicum of power since it mostly translates to "don't be gross"

personally this forum reminds me of a bad time in my life where i was using it to escape as much as possible in as many ways as possible and i felt obsessively compelled to post in every single thread that was even remotely interesting as well as read every single post that was ever made. it was super unhealthy but it was so much better than the alternative and probably saved my life so, y'know, how unhealthy could it be

but the ultimate outcome of that is that when my life started getting progressively less shit and i started becoming progressively more of a human being that cared about its own wellbeing, i eased off of this place because my obsessive behaviours became less extreme, and i made friends in real life

now whenever i'm here it's just because people brought it up specifically saying something was going on, otherwise i feel totally disconnected

the people i met here are still some of my best friends that i have and i love them so very dearly. but i don't need to be here to be with them, so i'm not

in my own way i guess this is me saying thanks to the forum and the people here, too.

thanks for putting up with me when i was annoying and immature beyond belief. thanks for saving my life, az forum community. i'll always have a soft spot in my heart and a special connecting thread for anyone who says that they've spent time here.

Thanks Decker! And I can relate in a lot of ways, haha. :/ That 100/day post activity was a bit of a weird time for me and I am honestly ashamed of how hard I went into this place at the beginning. And the middle. And now a little bit freaking out because everyone is coming back, at least for a bit.

I appreciate you guys for having to deal with my depressive lows, and for being here when I'm feeling great. This weird corner of the internet helped shame me a human being and I am grateful for it.

I know I barely posted, but yet somehow this place was still the catalyst for friendships that have held strong to this very day!

Pretty pop flyin' about that, even if this place is hardly as active as it was, still a pretty rad place.
