I usually don't do much with kids because I find them pretty boring as characters, but that was good to play around with

Huh. Wasn't expecting the fantasy angle. I was expecting a crazy story about Murphy's law gone wrong involving the usual traffic, a police chase over a case of mistaken identity, maybe even getting roped into robbing a bank in the process and foiling it from the inside out. Or a short anthology of his previous wild excuses. Or getting fired and then a revenge fantasy.
