I asked mom to get me a Black WiiU and the Supoer Mario Bros game that came out for it.

Asked for an Xbox hard-drive and that's pretty much it. Anything over 100GB would last me forever.

I don't know what I'm getting this Christmas, I mean, other than Secret Santa things (hopefully). A few friends mentioned they wanted to get me something but I'm not really confident it'll happen-- like, I appreciate the thought and I don't begrudge them anything, I'm just not sure how likely they are to actually go through with it since they often don't.

When my parents went on vacation earlier this year they said they'd get me an LCD tv to replace the huge CRT I have as thanks for taking care of everything while they were gone, but instead gave me their old LCD TV (which was fine really), but then my parents decided they also wanted a TV so I ended up having to give mine to Izzy when they took the one from the livingroom and they said that for Christmas they'll get me a TV instead to replace it again? I guess it sounds selfish but that's a little depressing to me. It's not that I mind using my CRT even if balancing it on my dresser probably isn't the safest situation in the world, or that I really want a new TV anyway, it's kind of just the principle of the situation I guess. I asked them to go halfsies with me on a WiiU for Christmas but they declined, and if they helped out with it it would be theirs anyway.

Really I'd love any old thing someone got me if they got it because it made them think of me-- I actually really love hand made kind of gifts a lot. One year my mom got me a special bag I still use that she had a friend embroider with my screen name, and another year she made me some custom t-shirts with iron-on patterns of games and stuff she knew I liked.

Other than that though, I haven't really asked for anything. Now that I'm at the stage where when I want something, I can just buy it myself instead of having to wait for my birthday/Christmas (which are only like a week apart), I never know what to ask for, so I don't tend to end up getting a lot. :B I'm tricky to buy for too, since I don't like jewellery or makeup and a lot of the things that I do like tend to have to be bought off the internet. I think I'm mostly just getting cheddar and the usual socks/pyjamas/etc. this year, so I can just get my own stuff and make it easier for my mum. Might ask for one of those laptop tray things with the built-in fans though, since I use my laptop in the studio a lot and it gets pretty hot in there so I'd like to be able to keep it cool.

Since most of my friends finally have jobs this year, it looks like we're going to do a big gift exchange.

I know my brother is making custom WH40K stuff for people, which I shall not say what exactly they are because Creaky,

but I have no idea what I'm going to do.


I also heard something about 3 of my friends all teaming up for one gift for me so I'm hella curious about that.

So who here wasn't raised on Christmas? Anyone brought up in some other heathen tradition? I was raised "Knock On Your Door at Odd Hoursist" myself. We still often got Xmas stuff, as Mamaw was more mainstream Christianity. Now we celebrate every year. The old religion feels like a failed diet we never talk about.

My family is Jewish but we still have a tree and celebrate secular Christmas as a family/gift tradition with the rest of my mom's side of the family since they're various flavors of Christian. Also my parents forget every single year to light the candles and then on like night six we're all "oh shit right Hannukah quick just light all the candles here's some unwrapped school supplies everybody eat some waxy chocolate coins okay good job yes."

Every year I try to get my family into the Festivus spirit but they're just not buying it.
