i get like, .6 gb/s for downloads and about 120 ping

where should I go to compare deals and such? all the sites I've found look pretty shady

What are some of the bigger companies where you live? Verizon, Comcast, etc?
They'll probably have the best prices, just because they have so many resources at their disposal.

well i found a site that says comcast is available in my area, but it's like $59/month and I dunno about that o.o

and plus it's wireless, which I've heard some people say is a bad thing? I'm kinda oblivious to this stuff.

Do not get 3g as your primary connection especially if it's that expensive, it's generally not as fast and has high ping since you know, it's wireless. Wired for home, 3g for laptops on the move and phones.

Also your speed and costs tell me you more or less live in the middle of nowhere?

then again, I dunno about rates in the US, to have speeds that low here you'd have to live in the middle of a forest, and we have no data caps

I just google ''Online Gif Resizer'', use the first site and just save the resized gif.

It's very easy in gimp.

Once you get past how un-user friendly gimp is at first lol

no, rates in the US simply suck balls. rates in western europe and eastern asia are vastly superior to ours, with the exception of university campuses and research facilities here.

to be fair, the rates in the US give us generally superior speeds to Europe networks.

quick rundown of services:
AT&T- kind of crap
Verizon- fast but terribly glitchy
Comcast- crapcast
Cablevision/IO- good, but they throttle large uploads' speed too often
Time Warner- varies wildly based on area

summary- they all have their problems
