Like I said, it varies. I pretty much say "If it's part animal, it's upstanding member of society." Or, alternatively, "If it's an animal that looks human, it's a upstanding member of society." But that is my own definition.

Some people draw really human-like upstanding members of society (like, a human face and body that is just covered in fur, with ears and a tail), others draw really animal-like ones (cat head on a human body, or the kind with... multiple mammaries...)
