On imgur you can resize images you upload, there's an edit button.

Also you can add an "s", "m", or "l" to the end of the URL (before the .jpg or whatever) to change the size when embedding the URL.

What little I know of the process of tanning has always really impressed me, but it hasn't fascinated me enough to actually look into the detailed mechanics of it. Like how the fuck do you keep the hair from falling off of the skin. I get that it's stretched to avoid too much shrinkage, and treated with some kind of mix that keeps it from getting too brittle as it dries, but I know none of the details. The fact that people figured out how to do it in the first place, and that you are able to do what I'm assuming is a VERY time-consuming process as a hobby, is so cool.

pretty much the entire process of tanning is to keep the fur in the hide (unless you dont want it, then you scrape it off,) so uh

but really the biggest thing is just...don't let bacteria grow on the skin. that's really what makes the hair fall out is when the top layer of skin starts to decompose. which starts with salt and/or a nice big helping of stoprot and then getting it into the pickle asap.

you also absolutely don't have to break it either. you can leave it stiff as a board if you want and it'd be fine - the stretching and sanding is bodaciously just so it's soft and you can use it for crafting. once it's been tanned it's preserved forever*

honestly tho i've been thinking of streaming some of my work but idk ...how. im pretty sure twitch wouldn't be down with me eviscerating rabbits but i know other taxidermists who stream but i have no idea where they do it? i'm apparently not popular enough on tumblr to have people answer me lmao.
