nah. I doubt you'll need the faster drive that much.

I want to build a PC for under $700 USD. I want it to be AMD, have 6 cores at a high wattage, a decent video card, and at least 4 GB of ram @ 1866. Anyone know if this is good?

^this is $670 USD
I would love if anyone can get the price lower without lowering the specs.

This is my current computer
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docu ... ct=4124965

It's only today that I started trying to figure out how to build a computer so I watched Newegg's videos and got the basic gist of it I think.
In practice though it got reeeeally expensive, and since I already have this not too old computer right here I figured I could just replace a couple parts and fix it up.
I want to replace the motherboard, power supply, video card, and processor. Everything else should be reusable right?
My budget is about $450

Edit: I was pointed to this on another forum.

They said along with that to get whatever GPU strikes my fancy and then I was confused again. Is the GPU a separate component or is it inside the processor?

A GPU is a graphics card. Graphics Processing Unit.
The "Processor" you refer to is the CPU, or Central Processing Unit.

they are both different components.

Okay, so I hung out on /g/ last night for a good bit of time. Very abrasive community but that's not what I was there for. They show builds, good and cheap, in PNG format by taking a screenshot from Newegg's shopping cart. That's what I was there for. I learned what parts were considered "good" by how often they appeared in the lists as a whole.

Dang I got some of the exact same parts for my new computer. Except for the processor since I have my sweet intel discount. Shame those guys didn't get the 10 bucks off promo on the RAM and video card.

@stranaton

I'd go for a higher capacity on the hdd for lower rpm. 250 is pretty small. Also, RAM is going down like crazy, you could probably find corsair or Kingston ddr3 1333mhz 2x4 GB sticks for 50 bucks or less

I have been trying to install SourceOP on Fatehehhhh's TF2 server and it won't work. All the files are in the correct place, my only guess as to what is wrong is that in many on the .txt files the only character that appears is a single "1". I am p. sure that the .txt files are supposed to be filled with the admin commands or activations of different sourceop proletariats. If someone has worked on something similar can you help me, or Fatehehhhh go and find someone who has done it before.

Is there anyone here who has a Macbook Pro and has/had difficulty in getting Livestream procaster to work?
If you did get it to work, can you state exactly how you did so?
Two friends of mine are having difficulty getting it to work
