They had been talking, despite having just met. But a slightly more growly voice soon intercepted them, speaking above their younger voices. He invited himself into the group without a second thought, but Nami found that she didn't mind. He looked strong, at least for now. She'd always admired Absol... from a safe distance.

"We're going to explore Thick Plains for the first time. I was just about to get to that." She decided not to comment on Cliff's rude manner, and just see how it went. "I'm Nami, and I'll be acting team leader for this mission. That Cyndaquil is Chaz and the Poochyena is Smuts." She smirked at his name, but held back a few giggles. They could make fun of him for it later. She declined to mention how they were just starting out and she'd never been exploring before, without her brother. That would come later as well... maybe.

edit: btw, i would appreciate it if someone could come up with a sprite for nami.

Smuts looked up in wonder at the newcomer, an Absol who came with a small speech. This 'Cliff' certainly looked like he had already seen a lot of the land...
Nami spoke again, filling them in on where they were off to. He felt a warm glow at being accepted as a Team member already. He felt he should add to the conversation about the expolring factor. "What Items d'ya think we'll need, Nami? Other than some Oran Berries?" This reminded him that he was still saving up for a Yellow bandana. But that will have to wait. The exploration was more important right now.


[Also a Smuts sprite would be really nice. He's a normal Poochyena, but his ears are a bit of a darker grey than most of his coat. He'll eventually get a Yellow-gold bandana, worn 'backwards' around his neck (the knot at the front). ]

The cyndaquil wipes his nose and yawns "well i guess we best get going.. err.. Cliff? was it." keeping the skitty between himself and the big scary doggies.

[Chaz is a cyndaquil with a messy little patch of hair on top of his head and star shaped spots on his flanks, but otherwise a normal cyndaquil]

As they continued on their adventure, Avena quickly lost her nerve and migrated from the front of the group to the back, looking around nervously. So far they hadn't seen anything to be worried about, but she was fairly certain that something was going to jump out and attack them.

"Um...Dart?" she asked after a few more minutes of walking. "What are we supposed to be looking for out here anyway?"

[The rest of my team is requesting sprites, so I will too.

Never mind.]
Cliff listened to the introductions and took mental note of the names. The skitty was Nami, she was the one who he needed to listen to. The Poochyena's name was a bit curious, the name "Smuts" would normally be greeted with hysterical laughter, but he could already sense a troubled aura about his rude actions. Last but not least we had the little Cyndaquil cowering behind his superior. Apparently, he went by Chaz. This was it, this was the team he'd chosen to make himself a part of. Who knows? All legends started out as rookies.

"Thick Plains? Excellent!" Cliff honestly was as clueless as the lot of them, he wasn't allowed to go on explorations without a team and was forced to deal with the small and simple rescue missions.

Just then, Chaz piped up from behind the Skitty, asking if it was time for them to go. However, Nami and Smuts were sill talking about what they needed to do before they left, so he decided not to talk over them. He didn't want to seem more rude than he already did.

Dart immediately stopped walking and thought for a minute. Then he finally said with a spry smile on his face, "I don't know...cute girls?"

"Right, because you'll find cute girls all over wild, rough territory," the Vulpix remarked dryly.

"I guess you're right, besides, we don't even need to look for one, we've got one right here." Dart replied with his signature smile.

However, just 20 yards away was an angry Scyther waiting to pounce brustling through a bush.

Avena flushed a bright red and looked down, only to hear a surprised exclamation from the Charmander as the Scyther burst out of its' hiding place. It brandished its' sharp arms with a vicious snarl on its' face and readied a furious attack.

"Wh-WHOA."

Scraps stood in front of the board, evidently astonished.

"What? What's wrong?" asked Araea.

"...I totally just zoned out there for a minute. The nectar... It does that to me sometimes."

"...Scraps, you were standing there forEVER. I went and got lunch. I've been back for over an hour."

"...bad berries."

"Hm..."

"Anyway, my apologies! You want to check out the Canopy, then we shall check out the Canopy." Scraps eagerly opened a second pouch of Mago Berry Nectar and raised it in the air. "To adventure!"

Araea quickly swooped into the air, snatching the pouch from Scraps.

"...I'm just gonna hold on to this for awhile."

"...yeah, alright."

And the duo finally began their trek into the Canopy.

Smuts' ears only are the darker parts. This darker colour is lighter than his black markings. The top of his head has regular colouration. Otherwise YAYYYYYY!
