I think the biggest thing people have with it is that you can't opt out of it because otherwise you get fined. I'm all for Obamacare but that little bit seems odd to me.

Isn't it mostly just a bunch of guidelines for insurance companies and hospitals?

Trying to not sound offensive, but it isn't.

I've read a bit of it.
it is written as a supplement plan, but acts as primary insurance. It can be in place on it's own.
I'd argue more but dinner and not really the thread at this point. (feel free to start in taboo or whatever, I'll reply when I get back)

It's pretty much the same as weed. It's not the best thing in the world, but it's also actually not that bad, though the government and half the country would like you to think it is. Everyone else is already doing it and proving that it's actually pretty harmless when done right, and holding on to this belief that it's evil is just making us look silly.

what most people fear
1. insurance from government outprices private companies because deficits don't scare congress
2. private companies die
3. government insurance quality and prices go to shit because lack of competition and eventually even America runs out of cheddar

all that stuff of socialism and whatever tea party stuff is mostly wild speculation

You ask anyone at any other part of the world how any of those potential threats actually effect them, and they'd probably laugh at you.

I think there's a decent chunk of people who just don't want to have health insurance at all, so they're making a fuss about how Obamacare is forcing them to.

Everyone without health insurance who has an emergency, which the hospitals have to treat, that can't afford the up-front costs makes everyone else have to foot the bill.

Edit: I hope to see the Electoral College removed in my lifetime.

If Canadia can do it, we can do it.
