This is actually one of the reasons I don't drink alcohol. Getting drunk to the point of losing inhibitions is the drinker's fault and they deserve every consequence that happens as a result. Willingly giving up everything that keeps me in control of me is not going to happen outside of medical reasons.

I'm glad you have such control over your life and your emotions to the point where you can avoid wanting to forget everything for a while

I hope you'll excuse if not all us can be as rock solid as you in that department

Is your avatar a priest?

Because if so, this is fitting.

Drinking to forget is a bad road to start down. You will remember eventually, and it may only compound the negatives of those memories if you do something you regret during the haze.

I am not in control of my life. However, I recognize that trying to forget my problems won't work when they'll still be there in the morning. What I can do is face them, find ways to alleviate or solve them, and tackle them head on.

And no this avatar is not a priest.

While that's certainly an admirable stance to take, you must remember that its easy to say for someone to do or not do something when you're not in the situation that they're in

Anyways enough sad talk I have a bottle of cognac I'm saving for my birthday in March and it looks goood

People drink for different reasons, and react to that drinking differently. I drink because I happen to like how certain alcoholic drinks taste and end up a pretty high drunk (good mood and giggles everywhere. I also end up a more alpha version of myself as well...apparently.). CN is doing it now because he feels betrayed by his friends, which I completely understand. At least he's handling it by showing us how dysfunctional his keyboard gets when he drinks and not by going out starting fights/hitting people with his car.

I can type perfectly well while drunk. I might hit the wrong keys more often, but I still backspace and correct myself, so it just takes a little longer to type. :psyduck:

EVERY PARTY NEEDS A POOPER THAT'S WHY THEY INVITED YOU

PARTY POOPER

PARTY POOPER

Anyways, we may want to take the morals/philosophy/whatever the fuck of drinking somewhere else. No need to bicker over differences in opinion or play the condescension conga.

Personally, I don't think I'd let myself get wasted, but I've hit the edge of being drunk before and it's pretty fun to be in control of the important things (like not trying to kill yourself doing something stupid, motor control, and bladder control) but be free from second guessing stupid shit and not speaking up. Especially when everyone else is the same and you're having a good time. I don't think I'd drink alone.

I'm in the same boat as Kamak. I mean, I've only been drinking once, but I think I'd only like drinking with friends so that it's actually an activity, not the means to an activity. I like it both for the beverage itself and the "whoops don't care ahaha" feeling while playing board games. Apples to Apples is particularly good in this department.

I played pictionary with my family when we were drinking.

People couldn't draw the US right, they'd get the eastern seaboard and then suddenly Florida was the size of Africa.

Then the rest of it was a box because "fuck drawing".

Pictionary is the best.
