Punchy quickly gets up and stuffs the dropped item in his pocket, joining the others at the plaza.

"Interesting... A projector and screen. Educational film on murder?"

"Whitney, did... Did Bud tell you what we found, sport?"

"As for this movie.... It can't be anything good."

Remembering that he still has to acquaint himself with the other villagers, Punchy sits down next to Pierce.

Pierce glances at Punchy.

"Which team did you investigate with, rookie?"

With the announcement, Octavian emerged up river, pulling himself fromt he water.
He had found nothing.
No clues.
No items.
Just sand and oil drums.But there was a thing int he distance. It itched at his brain.

"Bud didn't say anything, but I can guess it wasn't good." She took the other open seat next to Pierce and folded her arms, waiting patiently--or perhaps impatiently--for the movie to start.

"Teams? What teams?" Punchy asked curiously. "I came in kinda late, so I missed quite a bit..."

Pierce looks slightly shocked and confused, then flustered.

"O-oh, well, we all went out investigating today. Some of us went out to the train tracks, myself included, while others went out to the ocean and explored other parts of town. We'll have to tell each other our findings later. It looks like the movie is about to start."



"It...."

Pierce looks down at the ground.

"It's better not to say."

Punchy shifts uncomfortably in his seat as it starts.

Coco stashes away her shovel as well, but brings the Gargloid with her.

"It's only a movie, right? A movie can't be that scary, doroing."

Pierce begins tapping his foot impatiently, as if waiting for something to happen.

The movie gets to the part where the spy is supposed to appear and reveal what he found out on his mission.

But instead of the actor who played the sky, Tom Nook appears on the screen.

"You want to know what I found out on my mission, boss?"

He holds up what looks like an assortment of notebooks, each with one of the villagers' names on it.

"I've found their deepest darkest secrets. With this, the war on Hope Town will proceed swimmingly..."

He now looks at the villagers watching him on the projector.

"That is, unless someone wants to try to leave Hope Town with their secrets unknown to the world at large, upupu... UPUPUPUPUPUPUPU~"

With that, the movie suddenly ends, and Tom Nook appears on the table.

"I'll give you bastards 48 hours until I leak the contents of these notebooks. Maybe they're full of harmless embarassing stories... and maybe... they're your old shame that you've been hiding for years."

"I trust at least one of you now has a reason to kill someone. And maybe you even know who you want to kill."

With that, he left. The lights around the plaza are still off, and the projector is flickering light at the screen ominously.
