I need help in a lot of places in my life and everyone either can't help or flat out refuse to.

So after major jumping, and finally settling on being a nurse, my big brother failed his first college nursing class by 1 point. It sucks so hard. My parents are really chewing him out and all upset and disappointed in him. No one is as disappointed with himself than himself. He felt like he needed to do nursing though, so he isn't some hopeless bum living off his parents.. I feel really bad for him. I wonder if he feels like he's not doing enough for our family, when in reality, he's given so much for this family. More than me, that's for sure. Always driving me around, watching me and my brother, giving up his dream of being a chef??

I feel really sad that he failed. He seemed to be getting somewhere doing this work. I could tell it's not one of the top 3 things he'd be doing in life cuz the work is hard as balls, and sometimes the patients' families can be overbearing, but I wish he would be doing something he really really liked. He's super serious about his studies and work, I think he just has a difficult time focusing on it since it's not his ideal dream thing.

I think this is why he harps on me to save my cheddar a lot, and to study 3D Animation hard core, and to practice drawing and art every day. Because he wants me to selfishly go for my dream since he didn't. ohshit my parents are calling me downstairs am i introuble nowaaaa

Edit: I wasn't in trouble surprisingly. I feel like I have some sort of immunity to anything my parents will tell me grade wise since I got straight A's last semester. They were asking me how to help my big brother study, and what his problems might be.. that must've been a bit degrading for him. I wish they didn't ban him playing video games and doing fun stuff outright, because that's just gonna make him more stressed and depressed

If that's not what he wanted to do in life, then it's a good time to stop and reconsider. Nursing isn't something you can just pick up to make a living for a while like working in a store until you find something better. I would be miserable and probably dead if I had not dropped out of architecture after realizing I hated it. I felt like shit and a burden for everyone around me for a year after that but then I found something I really enjoy and got back on my feet and that's the important part. I'm sure the same can happen to your brother if he gets enough support and indulgence from you and your parents.

I guess I'll try and talk to him about it. My parents got really rustled off at me for talking to them casually about how maybe he should do something else, though. I think they don't want him to go back on this now because of all the cheddar he's spent, and they say he could just try and do something else later while working as a nurse. I kind of wonder if that'd be possible, because nursing seems like it'd take a long time to complete as a study, and then he might be too busy or tired to try and do something he really likes.

Plus, if he couldn't do this, aiming to be a chef or dietitian would cost a lot more to do, so I think he doesn't even really consider them as options anymore.

Coworkers making fun of me for being extremely jumpy not knowing I have ptsd from being beaten as a kid. :/
