Okay then that's just upholding the stereotype because there's a huge difference between activated charcoal and hunks of regular charcoal. Regular charcoal will not act as a binder and it will just cause illness because it has not been treated in a way to activate it.

I just saw an unboxing thread on /v/ that was fucking hilarious.

I don't think charcoal is really poisonous, particularly if you puke it back out right afterwards. Also triggering the gag reflex doesn't work as well on everyone.
