I think the risk of having accidentally poisoning yourself takes priority over drinking something icky.

She says the exact reason she drank charcoal. It's not to throw it up, it's to neutralize poisons by binding to them. It's very good at that.

Yeah, charcoal isn't used to induce vomiting, though I'm sure that's what it does to some people. Ipecac syrup is what you use to make someone throw up.

ey its what i was taught by a marine who went thru the extreme survival camp thing. he ate a rabbit he had caught but it wasnt cooked all the way through so he had to eat the charcoal to puke it up

To be honest I wouldn't take much of what a Marine says at face value. After seeing several family members join their ranks, leave, and then hearing their stories, I've learned that the "Marines are dumb as rocks" stereotype is largely fact.

no one uses ipecac anymore, thats actually considered dangerous by medical professionals these days and is no longer in common use

liquid charcoal is most commonly used to induce vomiting

I'm not seeing anything on the vomiting bit for activated charcoal, just its binding properties.

It's not exactly hard to induce vomiting, if it's disgusting enough and the patient is coöperating (not trying to hold back the vomit) it would probably work.
