The guy is supposed to be talking to Quepp asking if she saw who took the chair, but since she has not responded yet, she and the guard are in a time vortex. I guess I could always just say he goes up to search, but I like the idea of being trapped in a time vortex better. Gives quepp a chance to do things.
You can go up/down the stairs, Krom, or do something on this floor.

Since you didn't roll a 2 on your spot check like Cade when he was up here, Krom manages to see the pull cord for the stairs leading to the next floor. Let's get this on and pull that cord I guess.
You climb up the stairs. No windows up here, good thing you have darkvision and can see your way through this place. And wouldn't you know it, it's crates! Now I would normally let the entire party know all the stuff you manage to loot in here, but it's too dark for them to see OOC. So I'll PM all the stuff you found.

"'m actually answering a request put out from here a few days ago. Seems your members had come across the remains of some specimens of a magical nature and were looking for assistance in preparing them for study."

OOC: hehe... uh, sorry. Maybe we both are just standing there staring at each other waiting for me to come up with something to say. Or time vortex. That ones cooler. And do I have my weapons hidden on me or am I just in full disguise mode?

IC: "Yea someone said they needed it so that their pillow could have a place to sit for their date. I'd wager they're headed towards town somewhere. Now if you don't mind I got stuff to do." I then head upstairs if I can.

OW: "Well, the info we have already is in the notes over there. The bodies, well, we experimented on the slimes and... some of it is still here" He holds up some beakers with various goos in them "and some of it isn't. The rats that the other creature morphed into are indistinguishable from normal rats, even through magical detection, so some have been sold to the hotdog vendors. At least now, if it has some ability to reform from the swarm, it'll have a hell of a time." He points you to the notes.
Slime body reported dead has just devoured rubber plant, revoking status: dead. Status: alive.
1: Physical properties. Slime split when cut into. Have split slime into 8 different subjects for testing. Acidic, keep away from alkalies/bases.
2: Diet. Slime 1 fed average human meal; not dead. Slime 2 fed Joey; not dead. Slime 3 fed wood/leaves/etc; not dead. Slime 4 fed sewage; unable to check vital signs due to smell. Slime 5 fed mercury/arsenic/wolfsbane/nightshade/cyanide; missing. Slime 6 fed explosives; dead. Slime 7 fed explosives; film success. Slime 8 crushed under weight of food (sand); dead or missing.
3: Applications. Slime 1 currently in waste hole, garbage problem mostly gone.

Quepp: He rushes upstairs, and runs out. He misses that Krom has opened the attic due to time discrepancies. You head up stairs too, and I guess you wait long enough to see Krom come in, who doesn't notice you, again, due to time discrepancies. You can follow him, but the attic is too dark for you to see in. Your time warp has ended and you are returned to the normal timestream unharmed.

Well then I guess I go snooping around for stuff. If I find stuff look into it, if not go to the basement and explore there I guess.

"Certainly seem nasty enough when not contained. These're the creatures involved in the recent attacks on the city, then? Of what sort were the other types, the rat-hives before they turned to rats?"

In that case Quepp, I suppose you head up to Krom. He's had time to loot whatever he wants. It is dark in the attic so unless you have a light on you it's back down you go. In the event you go down, you see the body of a neckbeard, bleeding from the ankle, unconscious and being absorbed by a mushroom.

OW! Sorry, that was just a random exclamation of funk. Anyway Otherwise, "We only got the swarm, but I think the newspaper said they were 7 armed thingies."
OW!

"I heard rumors around town that the creatures that attacked the city were controlled or tamed by someone. Might ye have any ideas on how they managed it?"

"Maybe magic, maybe whips, maybe the power of friendship. Anyway, I wasn't the one who sent out the request, and I planned on killing the others today, so just take what you need for your curiosities and don't tell the fuzz."

"Mum's the word, sure. I'd like these notes on the slimes if it's not too much trouble. By any chance d'ye think I'd be able to chat with the fellow who did put out the request?"

"I don't know, didn't even know that someone put out a listing for help. But anyway, if it was Joey or Keith they're dead now so they can't pay you, and if it was another they're not gonna last long either." He picks up some things and gets up to leave. "I wouldn't stick around. And I guess you can have the notes."
Quepp, you see the beardless wizard leave his room and he starts picking some books out from the shelves.
