Arguing about income levels in the US might not be wise if you're not American because standards there seem insane when compared to the rest of the world. If you're earning 100k € a year in Finland, you're part of the richest 1% (not exaggerating) and instantly upper-class because differences in income are way lower than in the US where you don't have to be a CEO to count your pay in sextuple digits.

Celebrated in front of the White House last night. Thousands were there, mostly college students like myself. The crowd was MASSIVE. People were up in trees, I must've gotten on TV about five times, shit was cray.

People were shouting "USA! USA!", "FOUR MORE YEARS!", "OBAMA!" and were singing the National Anthem, as well as pop flyin' Birthday to one girl in the crowd whose birthday it was.

This morning someone in my Spanish class said they were right next to some 14-year-old kid who pulled out a gun. Needless to say he quickly got sacked by 10 police officers.

My facebook feed is overflowing with pics from friends who were there too.

I may upload some pics here later if I feel like it.

Glad you had a good time Wordsmith, and that no one got hurt.

Hehe, some people around campus looked very sad today. I've seen my one friend who said she wanted Romney to win yet.

Just a comment, something I don't think almost anybody knows apparently is how taxes are applied, which leads a lot of people to think that if you "bump up" to the next income bracket you could somehow take home less than before because you're being taxed "more" now. But that's not the case.

Income tax is calculated based on each level leading up to that point. So for example, let's say 270k has a, I dunno, 10% tax rate, and 300k has a 20% tax rate, just for laffs and with no particular math checked because that's not the point atm. You'd be taxed 10% for the cheddar up to 270k and then all cheddar beyond that (the next 30k) would be taxed at 20%.

Also the sales tax in my town is about 11% because of state, local and federal taxes all compounding.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you:
-the utter destruction of America
-the rise of the next civil war
-the rise (more like continuation) of the antichrist
-socialism
-anything else that could ever happen where you'd give it the adjective "bad"

Someone from my ROTC class voted for Romney, and he look absolutely DEVASTATED!

Just kidding, he actually looked perfectly normal. As though just because the candidate he didn't want to win won, it didn't mean the world was coming to an end.

Imagine that...

I'm just hiding out today since I don't have class.

Republican group, which is known for being... less than tactful, planned to be in the quad today "regardless of the results".

In 2010 they did this and hooted and hollered about "taking Obama's balls away" when Congress shifted red, and being general assholes to the Democrats (who also can be pretty unbearable ("Why don't you agree that this is the perfect viewpoint for everyone!"))

I'm not eager to see what's up today.

Turned on the radio and there was some dipshit guy Michael Berry that was saying some horrifyingly racist things.
He was talking about how he wants to do away with "all the Liberatards, college kids, blacks, chinamen, and 71% of Mexicans" for voting for Obama.
And he said "I don't understand you Chinamen, you're the richest people in the country and you're voting for the guy who is robbing you"
and other horrible things that I already forgot.

Oh, and he was playing some country song in the background that was talking about lynching.

What. The. Fuck.

Todd Akin, the guy who made those comments about "legitimate rape" earlier this year, lost his chance at a Senate seat.
