Scientific notation is like counting how many decimal points you move in order to get 1 digit in front of the decimal.

In this case there are none, you could write it as 2.5x10^0 cm and it would be right. If you needed to express 25 mm in Scientific Notation you would have to right 2.5x10^-1, in order to move it left one place. If you had .25 somemeters, you would need to write 2.5x10^1, or 2.5x10, depending on your teachers mood.

Did your professor do that on purpose? Most of the issues I see with scientific notation is if the number is REALLY REALLY big, like the speed of light. Looks more like a question on converting units than scientific notation style. Was that the only question pertaining to it or were there more?

It's also useful for significant numbers eg. 12*10=1.2*10² and not 120.

Same. Doesn't help that I generally learn by working out problems and all we're doing is "determining the relationships" between the different formulas and are "expected" to use them to answer questions out of the book.

Except the book has no answer guide so how do I know I'm solving the problem the right way? Yeah, that's great and all that I know why it makes sense that acceleration sometimes is counterintuitive to the velocity, but how do I make sure I'm putting these numbers in right and getting the right results?

Because ultimately that is the test, not all of this variable juggling.

I have to write about a musician who had an influence on the world, not necessarily through their music, but I can't even decide one.
Suggestions for an easy musician to write about?

Has a topic already been handfed to you or are you in charge of that yourself?

Elvis was in Vietnam if I recall correctly.

Hmm... maybe. It can be an impact for better or worse, by the way.
Maybe I'll write about how Chopin leveled up to fight some monsters.
Edit: Oh wait it can't just be a musician, it has to be a composer. Muh

Do you know if Hitler dabbled in any musical instruments?

A musician doesn't necessarily write music in addition to performing it. Of course all this means is that it's less easy to bullshit things by saying "You remember this guy from history? He played an instrument once."

I'm pretty sure Debussy has some interesting biographies out there, but I also think he hated people so that might not be the best one to write about.

Anyway, all my classes this semester are more reading-centered instead of homework-centered, so I feel like I've been lured into a false sense of security. I have some tests coming up, and so far it looks like they'll be easy, but that worries me because what if they aren't
