all these parts, according to this chart, should cost around 1.1 grand, which would be two months wages. I'm willing to save it

but where would I go to get someone to make/find a computer like this?

You buy the parts and assemble them.

A screwdriver may be required.

Earth yourself before touching metal parts.

Okay so I just got this new sound card for LP related reasons.

PROBLEM IS my mic volume, when recording with it, is really REALLY low. There's also this CONSTANT beep in the background whenever anything, be it from the mic or directly from the computer audio, is recording. It's normally drowned out by the recorded audio, but it's still a bother.

I can not find a way to make my mic record at a level that, you know, is actually capable of being heard. Any advice?

First off, you haven't listed a graphics card. I don't care how incredible the motherboard's graphics claim to be, they're gonna suck. Also that doesn't seem much better than the $600 one you linked earlier. The CPU is identical, and you won't see any improvement between 6gigs RAM and 8 gigs RAM.
Even 6 doesn't give you anything special above 4, there isn't a game made that needs more than three, and the ones that do need 3 are few and far between.

You should just go with the $600 one, maybe grab another 1tb hard drive if you insist. (my 1TB isn't anywhere near full, though.)

EDIT: To clarify, when I say few and far between
I mean there might be two games that take three
maybe

I want to upgrade my computer and I am going to recycle most of what I have. Here's what I have now:
Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P
AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition (3.1 GHz)
XFX Radeon HD 4770 512MB
G.SKILL 4GB (2x2) DDR2-800 5-5-5-15
1.5TB WD HDDs
Logisys CS-51WBK 480W

And here's what I'm considering upgrading:
Processor - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (3.2 GHz)
Graphics Card - XFX Radeon HD 6970 2GB

Are they balanced (will one of them pull the other down in terms of performance)?

Also, should I upgrade my RAM? I don't know if that might restrict the abilities of the computer either.

One last thing, I need a case and power supply for about $100 and I have no experience with that. I'm looking, but it's hard to judge what's worth the price, and I'm not even sure how much power I need. The video card recommends at least 500W and two 75W 6-pin connectors, and the processor is 125W.

EDIT: Somebody gave me some case/PSU combinations, I'll probably go with the Coolermaster Haf 912 and the Corsair Builder Series CMPSU-600CXV2 600W. The wattage will be considerably better than my current power supply's and I won't need splitters in order to connect my multiple hard drives, it also has the two 75W 6-pin PCI-E connectors I need.

a bigger PSU may be better for future proofing and power spikes.
don't forget extra case fans and the ever important thermal paste.

You don't need any of what he mentioned, unless the processor does not come with pre-applied grease or you plan to overclock it a lot.

I think it's when you push a computer past its normal limits, but I don't know much about computers so I could be wrong

Not really pushing it past its limits but forcing it to go faster than it is set at the factory. It's pretty risk-free nowadays if you know what you're doing and cool the stuff properly.

ya, my computer overclocks a lot, its normal is at 2.7GHz, overclocked it goes up to 3.6GHz, which is amazing, I don't really worry about overclocking it that much, the fan is moving a lot, and the air coming out is hot, but it's safe, I think. Can someone tell me if I am wrong on this, just wanna be real safe.
