Got my blood test results, turns out I have a vitamin D deficiency yaaaaaaaaay

Apparently its bad enough they're prescribing a non-OTC supplement.

I walk to class every day, but other than that, not much. It can also be a diet thing, I don't drink milk and and think the other sources of vitamin D are like, fish and eggs and certain cereals I might not be getting idk.

From what I've looked up on the interwebs, it's apparently linked to bone problems and muscle weakness - maybe this explains why I stay sore for days after I exert myself, though I don't work out enough anyway so maybe I'm a weakling either way.
It's also kinda loosely connected to fatigue and depressive issues apparently? Hard to tell from what I've read.

I'm also wondering if I really need a prescription or if I can just get some over-the-counter stuff and maybe change some habits. I wouldn't mind getting more sunshine if I can work out some extra time.

These are all things I will ask the doctor about when I see her next though. :pseudo: Hooray learning about my health.

Last night I blew my nose and something in or about my eye popped.

It hurt like a motherfucker for about 12 seconds, then it was fine. No pain, vision normal.

Scared me a bit.

What body part are you talking about exactly? I may get something like that when I've been sitting on a leg or lying on an arm and when I get up the blood can flow properly again so there's a weird feeling of noticing the blood getting back into action. Otherwise I dunno what you're having.

It not always the same body part, it can be anywhere. But the majority of the time it's my upper left arm and the sole of my right foot.

You can get vitamin D from the vitamin section at a supermarket. Dunno how effective it is compared to proper sunlight though. also sunlight is free.

Vitamin D and milk go hand in hand for building strong bones. Kinda like how vitamin C helps you absorb iron.

Yeah, we just never get it in the UK.

When the heavens do actually open up you'll see Britons running in fear - trying to take shelter from the bright ball of nuclear fusion in the sky - such is our familiarity with said heavenly body.

It's actually been quite sunny here recently.

BLOOD SHOULD NEVER COME FROM ANYWHERE BUT A CUT YOU HAVE ON YOUR SSKIN. YOUR ORFICES SHOULD NEVER BLEED.
(nosebleeds are okay if its allergies or dry air)
BLOOD SHOULD NOT BE COMING FROM YOUR RECTUM. THIS IS A SERIOSUS PROBLEM YOU SHOULD CONSULT WITH A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL.
