So DnD, how do you feel about the ongoing siege of 'artistic nudes' that are just random chicks and dicks flashing their business to a poor quality webcam and then posting it on DA? Where does that fall?
It kind of bugs me to see it, honestly. I just can't see any artistic intent. It's all sort of like 'here is my junk in this badly lit area, marvel in its saggy glory', especially when you compare it to quality artistic nudes, which give thought to composition, lighting, and other basic principles of art. Bad 'artistic' nudes just feel different from bad drawings for some reason.
I dunno.
I don't like that dA features photography at all. I think it would be better for the site to have a split interface to stem - or at least redirect - the flow of that kind of material.
I generally don't care a whole lot for photography - not that I discount it as an artistic medium - I just think the way that dA throws it all in with the art on the site isn't the best way to do it.

I don't understand this apparent mutual exclusivity.
How is it that an admittedly intentional adult piece of work is not also considered a piece of art?
Artistic skill and talent went into making it - an understanding of colour, line, proportion, tone, composition - all the same components that go into any other piece of work, so why the snobbery?
I have heard it said that for a piece to be considered 'art' it needs to evoke some kind of emotional response - is not arousal or disgust an emotional response?
I have heard it said that for a piece to be considered 'art' it needs to evoke discussion - what is it we are doing right now?
Artwork has long featured nudity and sexual connotation - from classical Roman statues all the way through to modern pop art.
