Person-funk is meant to be good indicator of who to be attracted to from a biological stand point (I know you love your biology). It's something to do with how we identify mates with a good set of genes in contrast to our own. It is perfectly okay to not smell of cologne or perfume. That said though, there's only so funky you really need to be for such a purpose. I think once a person's personal odor becomes apparent to others at a distance it's probably turned a bit too rancid to be of use as a natural 'musk'.
Furthermore with today's modern medicine, doesn't really matter if you pair up with a mate and produce inferior children. So feel free to smell nice without worrying about the future of humanity!
Well yes. I still shower every day simply because if I don't, then eventually I'll feel gritty, and then super self conscious that everyone can smell me. I was mainly concerned by the whole "I don't got no perfoom!" problem.
I figure your hair, and your naughty bits are the main important thing since that's where things will "collect" (like oils and sweat and junk) with your face as a secondary importance if you've got an issue with acne.
Also, tangential question. When someone you know is sick, have you felt that it's reflected in how they smell? I ask because I was sick for the last week, and had that same paranoia that I associate with not showering.
and next week on the smell channel...
