How nice that you already got and assembled your model when I'm still waiting for mine to arrive.

Next time I'll get a kit I'll go for the amazon shop of that German guy I found. At least there I'll probably get it sooner.

Still don't have my stuff. Why am I so impatient.
But I went to Obi, a big hardware store, yesterday to check for paint and stuff. They don't have too many colours, but they have a counter where you can tell them exactly what mixture of colours you want and they mix it for you. But I don't think that's for spray paint, only normal paint. Dang.

So I got a Space Marine Scout squad, managed to actually build them all quite easily (save for glue and paint all over hands). Only painted two, and not finished anyway but I'm going for the Black Templars chapter. CHECK EM

Can anyone recommend a brand of flat paint for use on plastic models? I'm going to the shop today and I'm already getting a razor and some sandpaper.

Awww yeah.

I also bought paints but I'm not quite sure about the colour to use for the parts like the hands weapons and joints, the "grey" parts.
I have 2 colours, silvergrey (the lighter one) and anthracite(the darker one)
Image
I used the backside of the manual as reference for what colours to buy with the professionally painted one and the colour guide in the corner. Now the colour guide was colour was closer to the silvergrey but in the photos it looked more like the anthracite. Which one should I rather use?
Also do I have to prepare the plastic parts before spraying somehow? Roughen it up or something so the colour sticks to it better?

Use Anthracite. As for the other how to paint the parts, make sure they are cleaned and buy paint primer, it helps the paint stick on a lot better.

Man this thing is going to be tiny.
-looks at facts-
Oh the real one is only 18 meters high, that's a lot smaller than later Gundams so that's why.
12.5 cm high if it's really absolutely to scale. I'm gonna measure when it's built.

Edit:
Done cutting out and sandpapering the grey parts. That took half the day, wow.

Also tried out the spray paints on the empty skeleton thing where I cut the pieces out of.

Edit2: Cut out everything, gonna paint tomorrow!
