Normally I'd go with whoever's being quiet, but there's just nothing to say in the first place that it would have just as much chance hitting a warden as it does a prisoner.

Whenever I have to hammer a lynch in EM it tends to be whoever is being loud and lobbying it is the other person tends to be scum. It's a bit of a null tell because people here go into areas with no wifi and I often just wait for times where something needs to be said because I'm bad at getting good reads on people.

I do have a question for Turbo.

You get a shiv last night? I want to know if my septuple reverse psychology actually worked.

I don't know whether it's actually safe to answer this question.

I mean on one hand, the wardens can't actually kill people so I'm safe regardless of my answer, but I'd rather not risk them trying to convert me if the answer is yes.
We're still at an advantage and part of that is the fact that the wardens don't know who has what.

The way you worded this seems kind of odd to me. I can't quite put my finger on it. Any particular reason for not giving Reyo a straight answer?

I thought that second paragraph went over the reasons why. Revealing yes or no arguably gives the wardens more of an advantage than the mafia would get. Though that answer could have been better phrased, that's a pretty big hint to your role, Turbo, and that's valuable information to the wardens as well.

Which, now that you mention it, begs the question as to why Reyo thought it'd be a good idea to ask in the first place.

Read that last sentence as though it was reworded in the form of a question, directed at Reyo.

Same reason I do everything else, maybe someone says or does something silly in reaponse to it.

Though in this particular example, 90% of it is purely because I remembered that I mentioned Turbo should get a shiv from the manufacturer (and that was more for shits and giggles than anything, really. I mentioned him in that original comment because his name was the most prevalent in my head when I was writing it.) and wanted to see if it actually did anything. Turbo really doesn't have to answer, it really is just idle curiousity.

Though to be perfectly honest I'm intrigued by that answer as well. If I had gotten a shiv, and didn't want people to know I had it...I would've just said "no." How does the interrogator knowing (thinking) you don't have one make a different impact on what he does from not knowing for sure whether you do or don't?

I think you guys are reading too much into Turbo's answers.

It's not really a good idea to assume their role at this point.

It's better than not reading into ANYTHING.

I'm not reading anything into it, much less what his specific role is. I'm curious as to why he didn't just say "no". If his main concern was the interrogator finding out he has a shiv, and then harassing him for it, how would simply saying "no" not alleviate that?

It's just based on what I would have done. Even if I'd gotten a shiv, and didn't want people to know about it, I'd have just said "No I didn't get one." Then the only people who would actually know different would be me, and the manufacturer. The simple fact that no one's been shived, especially by him, would indicate that he either didn't get one, or did, and is one of the good guys (unles he is a warden and just doesn't want to be on the block for killing an innocent.) I can't really make any sort of safe inference, which is why it was for my own curiousity.

If it helps, the answer seems to also be a question as to whether it would be in our favor to reveal such things, regardless of actual possession of a shiv. From my understanding, living this far into the game is unexplored territory for Turbo, requiring caution at every turn.

Kidding aside though, that's at least one interpretation, though I hate to just assume everyone's telling the truth.

I really do think we need to just go for a random lynch just to force some momentum into the game.

wait a second

Reyo, kamak, and a few folks are pretty obviously disagreeing. I don't think they're on the same side. They might all be prisoners, but I doubt it. Reckon we could just scope out that group? Kill one, see which group they are, and then react accordingly?

I'm resorting to the gambler's fallacy here, but I confess I'm suspicious of Reyo because it seems unlikely he'd so uncautiously duplicate his last game's posting style. Usually people want to mix it up if they get the same role, to throw off suspicion.

But Reyo's been like this every game, ycobb, not just the previous one. I think he just likes messing with people.

I answered the way I did because even answering a simple "no" is too much info to be given out lightly. I'd rather be paranoid than converted.

or...

Seriously though, this game is all about acting and reacting to things that happen in the game, whether that's to night visits, accusations, certain people being killed, etc. Certain reactions to certain happenings are indicitive of certain roles and allegiences. As far as my specific actions, if we're to believe hollywood, the one thing you can't account for while acting is spontaneous action. I don't mind being that spontaneous action if it gets people talking.

@Turbo: The question I have is what you expect the interrogator to do with an answer of "I don't have a shiv." You mentioned him by name...role. I understand not wanting him to know if you DO have one, but what will he do with the idea that you don't?

Because knowing I don't have one makes him more likely to pass over me when deciding who to interrogate next.
Which when combined with my previous answer of "i didnt answer because i dont want to be interrogated" looks weird, but I'm just trying to leave them as in the dark as possible.
