dont pitty them.

and its not "Strong" in any way to sit around feeling sorry for yourself. and yeah i realize that there are chemical imbalances involved and whatnot, but hell, if you seriously feel like dying (which i know some people do) then go get some help. we got ways to fix that nowadays.

so yeah, its pretty pathetic to sit around cutting yourself or even doing the act considering there are so many ways to prevent it.

Im a Buddhist. :|

there is perfection in everyone. im not denying that. im just saying that sitting around, wallowing in your numbness really isnt proactive in any way. its like voting here in america. i think that if you dont vote, you dont have the right to bitch.

so until the emos start taking pills and getting medical help for their "depression", they cant bitch.

... o_o But

meds don't always work. I take medications for ADHD, depression, anxiety... the list goes on. And I still have panic and anxiety attacks, I still have breakdowns, I still have suicidal thoughts.

"Mature" and other such concepts are relative. You are what you are, and there's not much point in trying to define things like that further. Some people can't "grow out of it," and if they're trying to get attention that hard obviously they need it in some fashion. I myself went through a lot of that.

i've been taking Ritalin in some form or another since kindergarten. i KNOW what that is, and i know how people try to get attention, seeing as how that was my sole purpose in life from 1st grade to 10nth. and durring my 4 years in alaska, i had severe depression durring the winter. i needed special lights and all that. sure, i was sick of life, but for the sake of my family and my friends, i tried as best i could to be pop flyin', i tried getting help and i tried not to let those thoughts get to me. sure, they never really left, at least not completely, while i lived there, but i didnt go all emo.

you talk as if i have no idea what im talking about.

But I do, I know exactly what you mean. You feel like you're drowning in cement. Crying for no reason, unable to concentrate on anything, feeling like nothing in life is joyful. Even though I was only in a depression for about 4 weeks, I know exactly how you felt.

Once again everybody's just relapsed on the fact that EMO is a trend while SUICIDALS generally do seek help, and if they don't then they are not suicidals, but instead are an heroes, who most likely did it because they lost their ipods filled with Billy Talent.

Emos don't seek out help for their problems because they don't actually have any so they don't need any help. People with actually suicidal thoughts usually seek out, because no one wants to die that easily. There can be reasons for not seeking out help though: being unable to, denying your problems, realizing you have a problem to late and just letting it take over you, the list goes on.

And people are probably going to be "HOW CAN THEY BE UNABLE TO SEEK HELP?" Well, maybe it goes against their or someone else's beliefs to seek help. Maybe their parents are very overbearing or cause them harm and they're afraid. Maybe they don't want to admit they need help because they're stubborn.

That was all I was trying to get across.

Yes, they do. But their clothes and hairstyles are pretty attractive...

I thought emo was like a bridge between goth and punk, but I've never actually seen a punk without someone going "That's not real punk, they're just a poser!" so I wouldn't know.

It's got so bad now that no matter how you dress or act or whatever you listen to, you're a poser. It reminds me of that one episode of Doug where that new teen soap opera show comes on and one of the characters dresses like Doug. So everyone starts saying how Doug is copying the character. Then he changes his clothes, and then the character does, and so on, until he throws on a bunch of random crap and the character is even wearing that. Or something like that. Haven't seen Doug in years...

Excuse me, I have to go be nostalgic...

I've either never looked at a real punk funny, or they've all been posers then.
