Also scrub level. Anything by "the big three" of candy (Hershey's, Mars, and Nestle) is not very good chocolate. Those kinds of chocolates are really only for plain eating only, they're just not very good quality.

And for baking, here are chocolate mousse jar pies I made with my mom today. We have a lot of tweaking to do, but they came out pretty well, if incredibly intense.

Find something the same height as you want the layer to be. put it beside the cake and use it to guide the knife. makes it level and should make a clean break, as long as the cake is still somewhat warm from the oven.

i didn't get a good sigh view but the crust part was on the botton/sides

it was a chocolate cookie crumb crust
