AND TO MAKE A POST, YOU HAD TO MAKE CORDIAL HANDWRITTEN NOTE AND TAKE IT TO THE POST OFFICE (UPHILL BOTH WAYS, SEVEN FEET OF SNOW, 31 MILES) AND WAIT TWO WEEKS FOR THE PONY EXPRESS TO TAKE IT TO THE INTERNET DATA CENTER.

Were Avatars ever on the other side? I couldve sworn avatars were on the other side when I joined.

No, there was however a brief period when the forum was updated that switched the sides and caused mass annoyance.

Actually I remember lurking for a loooong booty time before I worked up the courage to actually join, although I can't remember when I started. I do know it was sometime in 2008, probably early to the middle of that year.

I picked up drawing again shortly after I joined AZ, and I also drew a lot more than I do now.

I lurked the forum since 2008 I think and joined when a friend of mine made an account here
I told him not to because I was so scared of this forum's attitude towards newcomers.
I still lurk, mostly.
