What a splendid debate.

One side just bashes religion and reaches a gaudy hand into the vast sea of religion jokes known as the internet.

Meanwhile, the other side states their own personal opinions, and expects everyone to be swayed immediately.

Both sides ignore eachother.

You're not talking about this one, in particular, are you?

No one specifically. Just a generalization.

I should've left my original reply to this topic up, but I thought this topic had ended since Lawliet admitted to it being stupid. But I guess I was wrong.

I agree with Water. And if the forum is just gonna melt into topics like this I think I'll leave it.

I don't care about religion, but I don't tell people off because of their beliefs. I'm agnostic, and my best friend is christian. I don't tell her she shouldn't pray, or go to church, or believe in her god just because I don't believe in it.

My dad was raised in a very Catholic family. He had to go to Catholic school, church every Sunday, Midnight Mass on Christmas, the whole deal. He had religion shoved in his face so much that all he wanted to do was get away from it. He doesn't go to church anymore (although I think he still considers himself Catholic), and thus never forced me to go, leaving me free to choose my own beliefs, which I have.

I don't really associate myself with any specific religion, and I guess I consider myself more spiritual than religious. I won't get into it on here, since I don't want to confuse people or start any arguments or whatnot.

...I'm not sure what the point of my post was.

Just ignore me >.> <.<

My parents are devoted Catholics. So was I. Until I discovered the Internet, and all the people in it who have lots of facts that say that God doesn't exist.

I puzzle things like this out by writing series of things I know to be true and stopping when I run out. Conclusion: God and the supernatural may or may not exist. There is, if you look at solid fact, no way to prove that He/She/It/They exist. However, the way I think about it is, there's no way to prove anything's true, because we're filtering everything through the human brain, a filter that isn't consistent from person to person and across history. Then again, I live life through my brain. I perceive and remember everything through my brain. Therefore, I base my claims and conclusions on information that is scientifically true within my brain, but since nothing can be proven, it doesn't mean I'm right. It just means it makes sense based on my experience and my knowledge of the universe. So, I'm fundamentally agnostic, but my opinion is atheist.

When people ask, I just tell them I'm a godless heathen, though. Much simpler.

When I was young, my Aunts sent me to a Christian summer camp, AWANA if you ever heard of it. I hated every moment of it. They always pressured me to believe in Jesus, as did my Grandma. My mom goes on about it whenever I bring it up, and most people at school get annoyed when I say anything about it. So, for a time I became Agnostic, and soon, once I read up on it, Discordionism will be what I follow. For now, I have a belief in the Ying-Yang, Karma, and the rest is Science.

I heard there are Buddhists who achieve Nirvannha but stay on earth to help others. That sounds like a pretty good gig to me. Life is pretty good, after all.
