As for other animals I enjoy, octopi might just be one of the more fascinating invertebrates out there.

If octopi isn't made suspect using spell-check then I'm assuming it's a commonly-accepted pluralization.

And if we're getting technical it should be octopods.

how the plural of octopus works:

octopi was used, basically, because stuffy old scientists thought it sounded more scientific or whatever
octopuses is an acceptable pluralization
octopodes is the most correct pluralization

Octopi are highly intelligent. Screw dolphins, Octopi are better, because they have a greater ability to manipulate the world around them with their tentacles.

OKAY SO EVERYBODY I'M GOING TO TELL YOU THE MAGICAL TALE OF LEUCOCHLORIDIUM PARADOXUM

So Leucochloridium paradoxum begins its life as an egg in bird poop. Now then, snails find bird shit to be the most delicious treat in the entirety of the world, so when a snail eats the shit filled with eggs one of the eggs hatches into a young Leucochloridium paradoxum. Luke, as we shall here on out call him, travels to the snail's head and then sticks his two brightly colored tail parts into each of the snail's eyes, making the snail look like this:

So to a bird, the snail's eyes now look like delicious wriggling CATERPILLARS! The bird swoops down, takes off the snail's eyes and Luke's tail parts, which are filled with eggs, and the process starts all over again!

ALSO Luke will make the snail's eyes regenerate with new tail parts in them so he continues being a mule for Luke until he either is snatched up along with his eyes by a bird or just dies.
