Oh daisies, I just remembered I still need to bake you that cake.
I'll get on that at some point by the end of the year, I promise.

oh shit son

It's a shame that my parents would shit themselves if I got mail from someone who WASN'T a business or from Texas.

Also, knowing my luck, I'd get something questionable and they would have a fit.

You are a business in Texas?

Or from Texas/a business in Texas and questionable?

Just tell your parents about the Secret Santa, [CN]. It shouldn't be that hard to convince them it's okay.

Hell, I just talked to my dad and he's chill with it.

The funny thing is, with return addresses and all that, if my secret Santa has said their name on the forum somewhere I have read it, everything just falls apart.

Same thing with general location, really. If the package came from Britain, that narrows it down a whole lot.
Return address for state also gives away a lot.

Sheesh, it'd become a game for me to find out the identity of my secret Santa.

Anyway, since I have a job and can afford to send stuff places (and I have no idea how international shipping works, so this could be educational), I might as well ask my mother tomorrow.

Although I know she'll stare for about one and a half to two seconds, then say "No."

Why do you have to ask
once the package gets there, what are they going to do, spend the cheddar to return it?

The point of Secret Santa is that you don't know who WILL send you a present

Not to not know who DID send you the present you got

I mean, I'll brag about the awesome present my recipient will get once he gets it

Haha, i find it kind of fun to figure out who mine is. I think it might have maybe been Vax last year, but that's based solely on the fact that I think I may have maybe, a long time ago, possibly heard him briefly mention living in the general vicinity of Chicago, where mine was from.

late cake is better than no cake

also don't worry about it dude. even if you don't get it done, it's a really nice gesture.

I think it's the "people on the internet you never met know where we live" bit.

I mean, if I had my own address I would join right in. I know Spoony isn't going to sell our addresses to companies or anything, and most people on here are reasonably sane, so I'm not too worried.

Wait
wait wait wait

Tell them that it's from Etsy. It's kind of like the farmer's market to Amazon's Target. You get stuff sent from individual people all the time when you order from there, because it's individuals that sell it.

I'll just talk her into it the old-fashioned way.

"Moooommmmyyyyyy, please! If you love me you'll say yes!"
