For fucks sake, what is wrong with these people?

If the Earth was shaking beneath them and they were drowning, they would appreciate help from anyone. Also I guarantee that they are using Japanese technology on a daily basis.
We're all human beings. Some of us don't act like it.

Anyway, reposting some videos from Unimportant Topics:

Ignorant and moronic people, Username. They're all just too stupid to realize that we have settled our differences since the 40's, aka 70 YEARS AGO. America doesn't hate Japan, half of our electronics are from Japan.

Seriously what the fuck we already bombed two of their fucking cities and when they get flooded they go "hurf durf payback". What pisses me off more is that the people saying were born decades after Pearl Harbor SO THEY CAN'T FUCKING SAY ANYTHING. Fuck it I am moving to Canada.

There have reportedly been about 20 aftershocks so far, ranging from 5.0-6.0. In terms of damage, "damages poorly constructed buildings" to "widespread damage across populated areas". But this is Japan, they get these things all the time. I think the worst we are looking at damage-wise is 5.0 despite the tremors being up to and around 6.0.

I know, right? 150,000-250,000 killed by the atomic bombs. Nearly all civilians who had nothing to do with war, the army, or anything at all. 2,459 people died at Pearl Harbor. 47 were civilians.

If anything it would make more sense if WE got the earthquake and the Japanese were like "haha karma for you guys being giant dicks and blowing us up" instead of the other way around. :/

Like I said, ignorant. They're probably in middle school, just learning about the second world war, thinking "Oh my god Japan is such an asshole."

Either that or they are all retarded ignorant people who don't know shit. Either way, they are stupid, and should not be on this planet.

Hawaii and our west coast got tsunamis. Nowhere near as much as what Japan got.

Reuters reports:

The massive earthquake that forced the closure of four nuclear power plants in Japan has highlighted the grave risk of inadequate back-up generators at U.S. facilities, a leading U.S. scientist group said on Friday.

While the U.S. regulator made clear that the national nuclear fleet is built to withstand the biggest earthquakes in history, scientists said they needed to do more to ensure that future quakes don't risk the kind of reactor impact that Japan is now grappling with.

Quote:
Could today's disaster have been predicted?

Some press reports have criticized seismologists for failing to forecast the force and location of the magnitude-8.9 earthquake -- which was stronger and hundreds of miles north of the site that, as CNN reports, Japan's government has worried since 1976 will be struck by a massive tremor. In an article boldly titled, "Japan: The 'Big One' hit, but not where they thought it would," the Washington Post's Joel Achenbach states:
"Scientists today said the event has once again humbled them, reinforcing a growing sense that the field of seismology needs to ditch some of its presumptions about major earthquakes."

But the truth is that the scientific community has never claimed the ability to precisely forecast a quake, even though seismological analysis has made massive strides in recent decades with the development of real-time global-monitoring technology.

Good news!

Quote:
Sky News reports on Twitter that a boat swept away by Japan's tsunami has been found, and all 81 passengers on board have been airlifted to safety.

A video of the tsunami in Sendai.
http://cnn.com/video/?/video/world/2011 ... i.wrap.cnn

And some tips for surviving a tsunami if you ever find yourself faced with one:
Quote:
Slate reports on the best ways to survive a tsunami:
Run uphill. If a tsunami is on its way, the safest place is naturally-formed high ground, like a hill or a mountain, as far from the coastline as possible. Otherwise, the roof of a tall, sturdy building will do. (Big beachfront hotels tend to be secure; small wooden houses are not.) If you can't get to high ground in time, the last best option is to climb a strong-looking tree as high as you can. Trees often get torn out of the ground during tsunamis, though, so choose wisely. If you can't find a tree or a structure to climb, cling to something that floats, like a log or a fishing boat. If you're in a boat on the ocean when the tsunami hits, don't head to shore - the most damage is done right along the coastline.

Yes sling blame around that the Earth decided to fuck people over like it does all the time.

People are idiots.

One of the main issues is going to be dealing with gas leaks and fires stemming from said gas leaks.

And yes, you can predict WHERE earthquakes will occur, but not WHEN.
