Wait, what guilt? Also Paranoid Android, I wasn't referring to you with my post if that's what you thought. It was directed at the first few.
I remember at work one day, there was this relatively well-to-do lady who came into the store with her son, who was Autistic. I was at the door and greeted her, and she seemed nice, and her son was cute and well-behaved. While they were waiting in line he was telling me what he was going to buy and I enjoyed replying to him.
However, at the ballpark retail stores we have a policy where you have to have some photographic identification to purchase anything with a credit card (even if its $5). She had rung up around $250, and lo and behold she did not have any id, so my supervisor had to tell the woman that she could not accept her card.
Woman decides to rage, feeling entitled, saying that she's in a suite and she comes to so many games and she spends so much cheddar every year at this establishment and DID YOU SEE MY SON IS AUTISTIC. (I always found using a disability as an excuse to be double-edged - I am disabled so you should give me better/different treatment, but how dare you suggest that because I am disabled I would want such treatment, I am just like everyone else.)
Anyway, she keeps raging, then she takes her son's hand, points at my supervisor, and tells her son, "Do you see this woman? This is a STUPID WOMAN," then she repeatedly says, "STUPID STUPID STUPID," emphasizing each repetition with a finger jab, and my supervisor can only stand there and watch. I am like really? Really. What do you hope to accomplish with this kind of behavior. Do you not see the other guests staring at you like you're a lunatic.
Eventually she leaves, but then comes back about two more times, the last time with her husband, who seemed incredibly embarrassed about the whole situation and kind of shooed her out as fast as possible. Creepiest thing was that last time she came in, the father wanted to go and wanted to take the son with him, but the kid started screaming and pulling at his mom, then said, in the creepiest god daisies voice ever, "I love you mommy and I will do whateeeeever you saaaaaay." Like she had the kid brainwashed.
TL;DR people with a sense of entitlement are stupid.
