Right now I'm trying to find a job that has something to do with science education, basically. I think it'd be super cool to work at a museum or nature center, come up with exhibits, maybe lead tours or visit schools or something. Having trouble finding something in my area, tbh, but I'm working on it. It's hard when you have zero network connections.

Other life goals: lose a bit of weight, build my own PC... maybe learn how to code. Other than that... well, I just wanna get a decent job so I can live comfortably and play lots of vidya in my spare time.

bodaciously no other plans. Except maybe have an underground house and the best possible internet, but that's more something that'd be nice to have than a plan.

A note, I had the same dream, coding is the most frustrating thing to learn and after that I just gave up hope for it being my career, now Im just hoping to have some sort of a decent life alone in an apartment. I'm not saying to give up, I just want to warn you that its harder than it looks.

For now, I've effectively given up on finding a decent job, I struggle in high school so what hope do I have in college?

College is an entirely different world than high school though. I'd say if you're willing to put in the effort to study on your own, and also have an idea of what kind of courses you'd have an interest in, you can handle college. Especially if it's a trade school or community college. Really ups your chances of getting a decent job, too.

Now its by no means required to get a job either, but it's not that difficult. Just different.

I know exactly what game development requires. Most of it is time and learning the various computer black magic techniques that tell the machine to make things happen.
I've been learning specific stuff for this for years. The thing I don't quite have down is programming, and that's mostly because I never have a decent computer of my own to sit down and spend hours of time in the same spot and writing code without MOM STOP DISTRACTING ME I DON'T CARE I'M DOING STUFF so that I could actually make proper progress.

Much of the work of making a game gets skipped by using a pre-existing engine, like Unity, Unreal, RPG Maker, and so on. And thing get much simpler if there's a dedicate person for each task, should one allow themselves to find people to work with. For an artist that's not good with monotonous tasks (me), knowing someone with no artistic talent whatsoever- but instead has a knack for numbers and repetitive typing with a lot of computer knowledge- makes a wonderful team member to get things moving.
In short, the biggest problem with getting a game project up and running is that many people try to do all the work themselves and find it overwhelming when they're being the director, screenwriter, main actor, supporting cast, cameraman, set designer and prop builder.

I didn't spontaneously decide that I was going to put pixels together and suddenly make Battlescene Warsouls: Modern Surgeon Mimicker 2017 and I understand the difficulties involved.

I hope it doesn't seem too much like I'm yelling at you or something of the sort.

Right now I'm exploring a career in social media marketing. It's something I've found enjoyment in, and my internship is going well. The guy who hired me for the company I'm currently working for is interested in keeping me around for other projects, which is exciting!

I'd like to finally go to college since I've broken away from my mother and feel relatively settled in Washington (will probably be moving to another town more north of where I currently am, like Olympia or Everett). Everett CC has a Integrated Communications emphasis in their "Associates in Art and Sciences - DTA" degree, which means a focus on social media networking and marketing. From there I can decide whether to go to a 4-year college or continue working with this 2-year degree.

If this career path doesn't go through, I will most likely default to IT/computer science.

Other near-future plans: Boyfriend is moving back to the States/Washington very soon. Now we have the opportunity to experience this nearly 3-year relationship in close proximity and see how things go! I think it'll be good, distance is stressful and being only two hours apart is much easier than having the entire Pacific ocean between us. Now we can finally go to the daisies Seattle Aquarium (our plans always got interrupted somehow when he visited).

Next Monday I'm going to Portland overnight to meet one of my Dota buddies that's moving across the country to Washington, D.C. in a couple of weeks. I'm super stoked, our last meet-up plans fell through but now it's happening! I've also never been to Portland before, it'll be fun exploring.

In more exciting meet-up news, just a week and a half after I go to Portland my friend Cat is coming down from Canada to visit for about five days. I've known this lady for almost four and a half years, and now that I'm so close to her we finally have a chance to meet up!! We met through another past member of these forums (rip Dreilex) playing League and we've kept in touch ever since. It'll be great, we'll be going to the zoo and into Seattle to party and visit the Star Wars and the Power of Costume exhibit! She wants to take me clubbing/bar-hopping one night and then we'll be crashing at another long-time internet friend's place since he lives just outside Seattle. (She's already met him since he had a stint in Canada for about three months, but this'll be my first time meeting him in-person too. Woo!)

This is most active my life's been recently. Up until this point I've mostly been scrooging my cheddar away into my savings, and now I have more than enough funds to hang out with friends and have a good time. c:

you think you are making a joke but harvest moon is my ideal tbh

i just want open space, animals, and sunshine. i think about getting a job (and even a job i would enjoy!) in an office or something and i just feel kinda sad. my ultimate goal is do something fun for cheddar from home, and have some livestock (and lots of cats) to pet whenever i want to, and not be tied to any 9-5 schedule

You do have a pretty killer voice mang. Radio seems to be surprisingly strong these days too - here in Aus, at least. And podcasts, huh? Errybody all about the podcasts now. That's kind of a weird one.

Yeah, that's me in a nutshell, I never got far in any project because I ooverestimate myself half the time and I end up cancelling it, I'm still stick inbetween a rock and a hard place with FrameShift and The Victims. I really would love to learn more of UE4 but god dang does blender require rocket science to work with.

I will soon be starting a Bachelor of Sciences program in Geology at the university I attend. I'm not entirely sure where I'm going to take it, but options like being a volcanologist or seismologist are in play. Rather exciting!
