My family exchanges names only. Most of them cop out and go for gift cards. I go out of my way to pick something desired yet unexpected. In a related question, does anybody know where to get a good top hat for around 25 dollars?

the adults on my dad's side of the family exchanges names like a regular secret santa. they send emails to the coordinator with what they'd like and they're randomly sent out. i don't think they're doing it this year though? i've not been asked to send a list yet. Maybe it's too early. mom's side just buys gifts for errone. we should be easy to buy for this year - just give us cash and house stuff :P

i'll be surprised if i get much but i don't care. i have a new house and a dog i really couldn't ask for anything else.

Try the New York garment district circa 1925

Yeah, but dude, come on, a top hat for 25 bucks? I cant imagine a hat costing less than 80 these days, much less a good quality one. Unless you really luck out in a thrift store or something

Christmas is only just over a week away. What did you guys ask for, if anything?

My list was short: I wanted a gift card so I could pre-order Destiny, clothes that I need, gift cards for restaurants for date nights and Jolly Ranchers.

cheddar and beer, same as every year. I usually have a big student loan bill in december, so I need all the spare cash I can get

I got a desktop computer, so I'm set. I have to wait until the 25th to set it up, though.

This, and a 2DS to play it with, and some other 3DS games.

Also, some tools for work.

Helping with a lot more buying this year than usual, and finding out how bad mom is at shopping around.

So far I've saved her probably $500, which will all go back in to getting more gifts for family.

So hooray for a happier Christmas!

I'm giving my parents two of the mugs I made in Ceramics. I just can't decide which two out of the four.

I got a few smaller presents for my friends this year. It was hard to stick to a budget.

Present for my partner accidentally got spoiled though.

may or may not get to actually shop christmas stuff this year due to house bullshit taking ALL MY cheddar. if we can get carpet/power by this weekend then i should be able to get SOMETHING for my parents and kyle but i have my doubts x:

very frustrated by that and the fact that i haven't worked for like two weeks so i'm not getting paid this weekend like i would be if i had and i could super use some cheddar
